As a United fan I obviously delight in Liverpool's misery, but I can relate to their frustration at Jones's red card - VAR looking at the worst possible still image, only in slow-motion, and completely disregarding the player actually getting the ball. We had the same last season when Casemiro was sent off for the same challenge, and Gusto did for Chelsea a few weeks ago. It's a dumbass rule that punishes the player for actually getting contact with the ball. It's reckless sure and worthy of a Yellow but they should not get red's if they actually reach the ball. Like, how TF is a player supposed to know exactly which angle his foot will roll in a split second after making contact with the ball.

It turns out THe VAR Guys were NOT paying attention and thought the Ref gave a goal,which seemed obvious so they did not bother with lines and only took 40 seconds to say "VAR check complete" meaning,of course, that the original decision stands(which they thought was a goal awarded!)

But a german ref would also never give either of those reds, there's something we call fingerspitzengefühl and especially in a big match refs are supposed to give players the benefit of the doubt to not ruin the match 20mins in. The best ref is the one you don't notice and about whom you can't say anything after the match, I never have that in england, the refs seem to always want attention.
