Jan 2 2014 - NE Florida Eagles - 305 to 325 pm - Feeding; Sibling Rivalry

Its rainy and wet at the nest again. Mom is feeding the oldest chick "Big One" a nice meal ... the meal is likely squirrel. Big One dominates the feeding and when the youngest "Lil One" tries to get in on the feeding Big One pecks the Lil One down several times. Its difficult to watch at times but eventually the youngest gets his fair share of the fish too. Momma Juliet is very patient and she always ensures that both her chicks get fed. The chicks are undergoing rapid growth right now and as such the oldest chick demands more food especially in these first few weeks..eventually it should balance out.
