I taught for over 30 years and it was a privilege to teach but it is earth shattering and relentless hard work. I hope you find a new job to suit you. You have to be happy in your working life.

Happy New Year. Lovely to see you vlogging again. I’m sorry the job didn’t work out. It’s brave to walk away, I did from 2 teaching jobs and have never regretted it. My subsequent jobs have come from the short term supply I’ve done. I used to keep a PE kit and a pair of wellies in the car along with a tool box of general stationary and a file of generic worksheets. Good luck and enjoy your return to sewing.

So great to see you back and thanks for giving us a fabric feast. I need to get onto pound fabrics, I'm so scared about ordering ribbing and finding out it doesn't match the rest of the outfit. Well done you for tackling that cabinet, it's going to be awesome and great words of advice for us all. Missed you ❤ xx

I think you’re quite brave to walk away from what you know isn’t right for you 🙌 love your fabric haul. There’s so many cable knit fabrics out there but the quality is so varied. Your Higs & Higs looks lovely! Looking forward to seeing your next fabric batch arrive 😍 How amazing that you’re creating a bespoke bed & storage, that’s the coolest thing!

Sorry that the job didn’t work out for you. I’ve been a teacher for many years and my mantra is ‘It’s not you; it’s them.” I’ve been supply teaching for seven years and I’m never going back. Your fabric is gorgeous. Hope you have lots of time to sew this term.

Unfortunately, I think you are right, it is a very different world to when I was a kid, but I still love working with kids because on the whole they are fun to be around. Just have to make sure the management is the right fit too. Thank you. xx

Good to see you back. I loooove your teal jersey from pound fabrics. Have you had a look at the Tustin dress by Itch to Stitch. It is definitely my favourite jersey dress pattern, since I prefer rather slimmer skirts but still want waistdefinition.

Nice to meet you, Jen. This is the first video of yours I have come across. Teaching would be such a difficult job! Very important but undervalued. Something I have always wanted to know how to do, and I might have worked it out but that's questionable.. Most commercial girls dress patterns come with a zipper closer (Simplicity etc), how can that be changed to a button placket? Zips are uncomfortable and can wave/bubble, I'd much prefer to use buttons or snaps. Another question would be, if a pattern doesn't open into the skirt from the bodice, how to make that work? A pattern I sewed recently did this and then the little one could not fit as there was a choke point where the bodice attached to the skirt. The bodice buttoned but had no additional placket, it was simply interfaced and sewn to the lining before turning out. The lined bodice overlapped and the skirt was 2 pieces joined at the side seams and gathered, no central split into the skirt from the bodice. If you were ever wanting to address either of these issues, I'd be an eager viewer :)
@onegirlcreates11 ай бұрын
Hi, nice to have you here, I will definitely add those to the list of tutorials, the first is definitely doable and the second there is an easy solution to add the split further down. Thank you so much for your comment. xx
