I'd read hundreds of pages about chronotope and it's the first time I really understood what it is. Thank You so much!

Dear Jan Blommaert, I think these videos are great. I'm a Phd student and an EFL lecturer in Turkey and I've watched nearly all of your videos. I've also read a great deal of your articles and books which shape my intellectual perspective. Thank you so much 👏

Hi. I love the way you explain a concept. The tone of your voice and the smooth time you take to express the details is soothing. Your unique expression of these ideas allows the complexities to sink int my brain. Today is the first time I came across this word chronotope in a film studies book that Im reading as a film student. Your definition makes so much sense! Thank you

Many thanks for this prof. Blommaert. Very interesting. I’ve got a quick question (if I may): what would be the difference between chronotope and Goffman’s framing? To my limited knowledge, framing also provides us with analytical tools that allow reaching a sociocultural and dialogical understanding of social/human action and interaction in time-space? Would it be possible for you to highlight the differences between the two perhaps in a video clip? Much appreciated.

Frames are chronotopic: they make sense in specific contextual conditions.
