Antonio Allegri da Correggio - absolutely fascinating paintings aren't they... a perfect match to the music! His painting have an unmatched liveliness, dramatics, some say sensuality, portraying the beauty of diversity richness of our western Judeo-christian civilization.

Fuck yeah. I fucking love our Judeo-christian civilization. I get you, those paintings are just dope, man. Almost as cool as Jesus, Charlemagne and the Crusades put together. And that is a very impressive acheivement for a man who paints pictures of naked women having sex with clouds. It almost seems that these paintings (and Correggio's particular artistic mindset) have more in common with the sensibilties of greek and roman antiquity, than with the teachings of Abraham and Jesus. But fuck that, the greatest acheivements of western art - as we all know - is, more than anything, a product produced independtly by our western Judeo-christian civilization. In the true language of the bible, latin: Christus origo sapientiarum est.

The New Testament is a clear rejection of current judaism, not of biblical hebraism, of course, not ot the People of God. . And the New Testament is right. Therefore, judeo-christian civilization is a blunt contradiction in terms.

@@franke.blumenberg3586 Three years on, and I now tend to agree with what you're saying (very sardonically) in this comment. Corregio and many of his contemporaries indeed pushed it too far and brought Western art into a overly sensual and fleshy lower-level expression of creation. I think his Nativity scene is till very good, bar perhaps the writhing and exposed angels. But yes, this trend started with Raphael & Michelangelo and got worse and worse. Bring back romanesque & gothic!

Es wäre schon schön zu erfahren, welcher Chor da singt, wer die Soli jeweils gibt und welches Orchester da spielt. Alles ist sehr schön, um so mehr gebührt es einfach, dass man das mit dazu schreibt, wenn man es hier veröffentlicht. Wenn man schon die Autoren der Bilder erwähnt....:)
