The most genuinely nice guy you could ever wish to meet. I met Jan when opening a tackle shop in the mid 90s and he was working for Shimano and Fox if I remember rightly. He was such an enormous help with the shop and also with the advice he gave on almost all methods when it came to my own angling.

one of my angling hero's .. ill never forget one day when i was a junior angler in the early 90's jan appeared behind me in my peg as i sat fishing a water just outside spalding in lincolnshire .. i was totally star struck when he spoke to me and asked if i was catching ... RIP Jan

Legend is banded about alot but Jan really was. Gentleman as a person, very talented angler in many disciplines, great guitarist and all round great guy. Sorely missed and thoughts always with his family and friends ♥ 🎣 🎸

always remember fishing with Jan on the Avon championships at tywford farm years ago when we drawed pegs next to each other 1 hour through the match Jan phone rang He shot up packed away came to me gave me his bait and said I got to shoot of my wife as gone into labour so I said to Jan take care he shot off little did I know the bait he gave me I found two floats of his own design he was trying out for the first time trial,which I still have never was in production fond memmories rest in peace Jan top man
