The dagger workshop is located right in the middle of Najran’s market, next to other shops doing the same craft. From early in the morning, craftspeople are busy forging, sharpening and shining blades. Almost all of the men walking past have a janbiya in the thick belt around their waist over a white thobe. The daggers are protected by beautifully decorated sheaths, made from light wood and draped in colourful fabric, leather or embellished metal. Their decorations vary but the form remains the same: the characteristically sharp and curved U-shape.
The roots of the janbiya have a long history - they have been worn in this region since at least 500 BCE, originally as a weapon to defend against feral animals and enemies. Today, the dagger is rarely taken out from its sheath, but remains a precious accessory and symbol of honour - worn with pride and passed down through the generations.

The Jambiya in Saudi Arabia, especially the regions of Najran and Asir, different completely in shape from the jambiya of the state of Yemen, the Yemeni jambiya which is a handle made of a rhinoceros horn and the blade comes wide from the side of the handle down to the end and the sheath of the jambiya comes from wood covered with strings of bamboo sticks ,The janbiya in Najran also has a handle of rhinoceros horn , but it is larger and wider than the handle for the Yemeni jambiya, and the blade of the jambiya is like the blade of the daggers, which is smaller than the blade of the Yemeni jambiya in size, and the sheath of the jambiya is made of wood covered with embroidered leather and sometimes with silver. The Asiri Jambiya is different too than the Najrani and Yamani Jambiya , which makes it also have a special appearance, which is a handle made of rhinoceros horn and comes as a letter( T ) in English and its size is large and the blade is like the Najrani blade and the sheath is entirely silver until the handle is embroidered with silver and sometimes with gold

Asir, Jizan, and Najran used to be autonomous regions before the Saudi Unification, with some Ottoman and Idrisi influence. This applies to the Kingdom of Yemen (Northern Yemen), which was an autonomous region with primitive tribal political system. And by the way, Yemen you are referring to in your comment has never existed before 1990 :). Yemen mentioned in the history is a geographic direction name only, with no political implications. I wish you read and educate your self before going out and shouting full nationalist non-sense and make your self a joke ;)
