Jane Clifton returns to Labassa

Thank you so much for this! Visiting a Melbourne friend many years ago from Perth, I strolled past Labassa, not knowing its provenance or the magnificence within. Who knew!?! Anyone taken with Jane's recollections of her time at Labassa should seek out a copy of her marvellous 2011 memoir "The Address Book", recalling her time there, and in 30-odd other homes she's lived in. A great airport read, as there's a lovely potted tale of each place.

I have all of Jane's books. The address book,Unfortunately, is an eBook, but I have it downloaded on my computer. You're correct. If you're a Jane Clifton fan, it's a must-read.

How lovely to see this - I read Jane's interesting book about visiting all the previous homes she had lived in. I've been to Labassa a few times, thank goodness it survived.

Nice to hear stories of former tennants of this fantastic mansion. I was involved with the young trust in the early days of the Trust ownership and worked on clearing the ceiling cavity of broken slate from the roof.
