susannah york, I think is the oldest actress to play Jane. Almost 31 I think to George Scott's 43. In looks and demeanor, I think Scott is probably the most accurate look for Rochester. Not handsome but plausible as Rochester. Possibly an 18 year old looking Jane may have had a creepy factor.

John Williams's score for this version is exquisite... listen to the main theme (3:45--4:25); it's a lovely melody. This is rather brutally abridged but pretty good version, all things considered.

These actors are very unsuitable to play these characters. They both look like senior citizens and they act like senior citizens, especially Rochester. Their performance is superficial, they show no love whatsoever.

everything is fine with them. except age. but if you watch the film in full, then they do an excellent job with their roles.
