For us 80’s kids that were into punk, metal, goth, alternative and new wave, Jane’s Addiction were the PERFECT BAND. They incorporated all genres and came up with something so original. Nice to see some of the younger generation appreciate them.

I have seen Jane's Addiction twice in the last 6 months, last time was March 7th, at a petite vintage theater house in Tucson, AZ, the infamous Rialto Theater. The last show was part of a micro 5 city, USA tour which concludes with JA joining the lineup playing 3 shows for a huge Lollapalooza tour in South America. The band played 2 hours straight, full stage show ~ the dancers, the whole shabango..... Best part was truly it all happening in that 100 year old charming, deco theater. That theater holds 1200, lol Oh yeaaaaaaaa ~ OOOOOOOOOH, WHAT A NIGHT! I went to both Jane's Addiction shows with my best friend I've kicked with since kindergarten, and at the Rialto Theater, we decided to trip on mushrooms.......... WHOAAAA ~ eat your heart out!

Saw this tour in 1990, I was 24 and saw them at the Masonic Temple in Toronto - I was front of the balcony, center stage. During this song I felt like I was suspended in midair in front of the band and threw my hands up like I was on a roller-coaster! It was like a religious experience! Sigh, the good old days. These things are tough when the person doesn't know the band, or it's origins. There was no orher band like Jane's Addiction, so to hear someone who doesn't know their music try describing it is difficult.

This is a great song, but I must be old as I do not consider this the start of their career, since it was album 3. I would recommend something off the first album, maybe Jane Says.

Their first release was the live EP with excellent covers of "Rock 'n Roll" by the Velvet Underground and Sympathy for the Devil along with several originals that are also excellent!

@@CousinCreepy In the U.S. known as the XXX album though it didn't have a formal name. It was, I think, a demo tape to start, but Rock n' Roll transitioning to Sympathy is one of my favorite ever tracks -- from them, and in general. Genius.

Dude put down the guitar and PLAY THE REST... I'm a fucking die hard fan in 48 and when my mother died when i was 16 i listened to them and that was it. They got me through some hard time and helped me get sober just listening to them. They bring me Up... no matter how many times i hear this song out still gives me the chills.... JA FOR LIFE

If you like Jane's Addiction, I recommend a little known band that's been around since the 90's, called "Spoonfed Tribe," out of Arlington, Tx. They were highly influenced by Jane's Addiction, Peter Gabriel, world music and tribal percussive music, while using psychedelic and theatrical visual elements during live performances, ala Blue Man Group and Stomp.

Hard to listen to this and not go right into Then She Did immediately but stick with JA 86 - 91 and you can't go wrong. Perry was magic back then!
