I met Chris at VidSummit this year, and he was super-nice. It took me a second to place him because you weren't there. (You had just had Daisy, and stayed back.) But, I'd see him and think... "He's *somebody's* husband... Whose husband is he??" And then I finally placed him. So trippy seeing him irl, without you, and without the "dead inside" act he often has to do in Shorts. Lol, you guys are beautiful together, and I wish you nothing but happiness & health. ❤

I’m 60 (I know, you’re wondering what the heck I’m doing here). I had my two sons in the late 90s, and listening to you talk about parenting and showing the most recent baby gear is like tuning in to a foreign film. 😂 Sleep Pod? I suppose we could have set up my husband’s Army pup tent. Four-month sleep regression? I just remember several years of sleep *deprivation* for myself. It’s wild the things that let you know you’re old now. I love your energy and optimism and humor. I can only offer that you will all survive. (Trust me - I survived riding in the back of pickup trucks and drinking from garden hoses.) P.S. The one thing that hasn’t changed is postpartum emotional stuff. Again, if you can turn to people who love you, you will survive it. ❤

Mom of 5 here... 2 boys, 3 girls and I know alot of people say this, that after 3, another one is just another one cause it's already crazy anyway. But I personally didn't find it that way. Adding the 4th and the 5th was another crazy adjustment, just like the others. 😅 Maybe it's circumstances or maybe I just take change hard, I don't know... Anyway, that was just my own experience. I'm glad others don't find it that way.

Mom of six reporting in- I agree. After three it doesn’t matter. You are already juggling. The older ones turn out to be sweet little helpers and they also help with companionship for each other. And mine are all autism spectrum, which was unrecognized back in the day. Just an FYI, mine were 21mos to 2 1/2 years apart. Each one a blessing!❤

I think there’s also a locality thing happening because a lot of women in Utah get work done so it’s hard to know what a human looks like when they’re just a regular person. Jane kind of touched on this with the lashes and nails but it’s so much more than just those things when it comes to the cosmetic services in Utah.

@rapunzelinjerusalem2 күн бұрын
People told me this when my first baby was not sleeping and it made me so depressed! In my experience it is NOT TRUE! Parenting is difficult in every stage, but it’s much easier when your kids learn to sleep. I’m a whole different person when I sleep at night and that makes any parenting challenge easier. Parents often forget this when their kids get older. Just my two cents.
@KristinWelton2 күн бұрын
@ Well said! I remember when my daughter was an infant, she wouldn’t sleep if she was put down in her crib. Literally, the minute I walked away, she would wake up and cry. I remember being so tired and feeling helpless, that I gave up and brought her to bed with me. I don’t regret it for a second. We do what we have to do because we need our sleep to function in life. 💕

Oh you’re complaining about not being able to have kids. Some people didn’t want any and had to because of family/societal pressure. So then you aren’t allowed to complain because at least you’re not fertile right? You never had to worry about conceiving against your will. I’d never say that though. We’re all allowed to complain about things. Wanted or not.

For the wall space that you were worried about because the gallery wall is near it, I feel like it would really tie everything together to have something there! I haven’t finished the video yet, but just thinking about you asking “when does it get easier” about having 3 kids. I had 4 kids in 5.5 years, and from my perspective, this REALLY depends on the kids you get. My first two kids were MUCH harder than my last 2 kids. I struggled so hard with them, but having a third and a fourth really hasn’t been much harder, because these kids are thankfully way more chill, lol. My fourth turns a year old in a month and I’m not ready to not have any more babies 🥺 Anyway there are so many hard times in raising young children, but you got this! It is really hard not knowing when the hard times will end, but they will.

Okay I just finished the video, haha. Loved your Q&A! I was really surprised when I recently learned you’re LDS. Making fun of Utah moms (who everyone knows are mostly Mormon) definitely had me thinking you were a non-LDS mom living in an LDS community lol. But I see, you’re just not FROM Utah! I am also an LDS Mom raised on the east coast. I’ve never lived in Utah, but I have met enough Utah Mormons to know they’re a different breed 🤪 I love your content and I relate so much to a lot of it! Thanks for being a good example of what Mormon moms are really like, even while poking fun at it! 😄 It’s upsetting that people think Momtok is representative of Mormon wives 😬 They need to come check you out instead!

Momming is hard and lovely and sleepless (for a season) and wonderful and crazy. My first didn’t sleep well except for in her own bed. So I feel this!

Good luck yall! My son was a SCREAMER!! As a baby too it was so hard and he’s our first. Definitely get help when you need it because the overstimulation is real. Love what you said about having more kids, currently pregnant with our second and it’s been hell, so much so I don’t want anymore but like you said don’t make a permanent decision on a temporary feeling. Good luck to you and your family!!

I have a 6m car screamer. We recently transitioned out of the bucket seat into the Graco SlimFit. Car rides are so much more peaceful! Highly recommend making the change sooner, test it out & see if it helps. It is so inconvenient, though 😂

Not in Utah anymore, but from there and you are so spot on with the "Utah mom". I definitely prescribe to the culture myself and have had friends poke fun at the "can take the girl outta Utah, but can't take the Utah outta the girl". Ha ha ha, it is more fun to just laugh at it and roll with it. Also appreciate the "forever decision of temporary hard stage". We only have two, but we waited until our second was 2 to decide.

I'm so happy that she is shifting her channel to being more diverse in the type of content she offers! Obviously her content was great before (we love the utah mom skits), but I'm excited that she's sharing more about her and her real life. I don't know if you'll read this comment Jane, but if you do, YOU'RE A WONDERFUL MOM!!! Your husband and kids are so blessed to have a wife and mother who cares as much as you do. Not to mention freaking HILARIOUS. I'm in nursing school and love nothing more than to return from a long day and watch your new shorts/videos to relax and laugh :)

I like not knowing about the people I watch actually. They always say or do something that makes me stop watching 😒.

My kids are around your age, (29 and 26) and I’ve never even heard of a 4 month sleep regression. Probably the best thing for me cause if I had heard about it, my kids definitely would have suffered from it cause that’s how I am. My poor pediatrician was always so frustrated with me cause I was in his office constantly just knowing my kids had diabetes, leukemia, anthrax, meningitis…..you name it, I was positive they had it🤦🏽♀️ Thankfully I was blessed with pretty good sleepers and eaters. As you know, they grow so fast and this stage will pass. The hardest part of motherhood for me was the empty nest. No one prepared me for those feelings and I can’t prepare anyone else’s for it. It’s so bad! So live in every single moment. Every one!

Literally, three kids is the hardest! If you can do three, you can do any number. Three is when you break and then you find a way to build back better! Haha. Insanity and back. I have 10. 3 was hardest, I promise. This is when you say “good thing she’s so cute.” And she is soooo cute! Seems like kids have a hard stage at some point. Honestly better now than in the teen years- I bet she will be a dream by then💖

My second daughter was a screamer in the car. You might want to check her vision. My daughter has a +7. Prescription. The car made her nauseous. She is adorable. I have 4 kids and never regretted it. I also had my first daughter at 21. Thanks for sharing.
