9:43 - love the thoughts about your mindset at this point. The overall video has a lot of great information, but little gems like this are priceless in giving yourself direction and feedback in a very positive way. Thank you for that!

Can't wait to get my copy of TBBOSA&S (😁). These little tastes of the book you've been showing have all been great stuff to think on. I know the book is going to help me greatly!

Lack of fluidity has been a problem I've always had but, annoyingly, never fully investigated. Time for that to change.

Was thinking about the new book and the next one @janek. Have you listened to Paganini’s 24 capricis? I suppose would be the same as studies… but just a thought 😊

Nice sounding harmonic major. Not really new but quite unusual to me. Thank you for the fingering exercise.

Are we getting a digital-only release after November 27th? The shipping charges to my country costs almost as much as the book lol.

Great video I wanted to ask you. I’m assuming your string spacing on that RKM is probably 18 mm and it’s a 34 scale? So do you find doing these exercises on the forest string helps you build more muscle in the fingers?

The good lady always laughs when I'm watching videos about fingerings😂

Could you please do something on breath? I noticed this, when listening to myself, while recording. Strange things are happening to the breath of many bass players. Even when they are playing on a professional level. Mostly when a part ist getting difficult. And the way you breath, is effecting the way you play. At least that’s what my teacher told me, after noticing, that I’m breathing like a weightlifter 😂

I take it broken chords have been pushed off as a supplement for the new book
@janekgwizdala20 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t call it pushed off… it was just too wordy for the title and the front cover to include them in the main text. The book contains plenty of them still.

Never fails....they always return to a p bass or a j bass....or a p/j ...never fails. It's the all time classic

looks to me like the ACTION on your BASS is extremely low to enable easy fingering. I'm playing an old Epiphone Les Paul bass with action nothing at all like the hyper-tuned "machine" you are playing. What do you have for improving fingering on an "un hyped tuned action" bass?
@Datababble22 күн бұрын
Not your fault, but this comment is pretty funny given Janek's tendency to have extremely HIGH action. I don't know what his RKM double-p is set up like, but his Mattison is quite high. He has at least one video out on his opinion of the benefits of raising your action - I can't link it for you now, but I bet you'll be able to find it with a search or two. Best of luck!

The action you have currently is not an inherent characteristic of your bass. Get it set up properly and lower it as much as you want. 🤷🏻♂️ But, yeah as Datababble says Janek is known for one thing above anything having a very high action, so maybe you don’t need to change your set up.
@craigsi1622 күн бұрын
You could not be more wrong dude. This is what you get for assuming. You look silly. Janek has higher than average action. Has done for years. If you see him do something that looks easy for him but hard for you, it's cos he's worked his ass off putting in the work for years! So try doing the same instead of making excuses 👍

The best fingering is often the one that best leads you into the next line. Major, minor, augmented etc Does Not MATTER
