There’s something oddly poetic about how the house spent the entire season trying to beat Janelle in a comp to make her vulnerable, and in the end, Mike was able to make her vulnerable by throwing a competition, which shocked her into losing. It’s like finding out the best way to win a race is to run backwards

Janelle and Michael are both legends of Big Brother for their insane comp wins alone. It's crazy how unstoppable Janelle was in BB6/BB7; 3rd place twice in a row with a huge target on her back coming in both times! Yes, even coming in her first time people labelled her as a threat, yet she still persevered. Amazing.

what michael did was impressive but i don't see him remembered on the level janelle has been. what she did, she did in the honey spot of the show's prime. put another way, michael had a great season, janelle had a great career. best of any non-winner and it's not even close.

Janelle is arguably one of the very best who has never won. She does not lay low and actually makes moves in the game, which I respect a lot. I don't have much respect for floaters in the game or people who hide behind their alliance members. Let's put it this way. Nicole F won BB18. If you were HoH, who would you want out? Janelle or Nicole F. End of story.

She had so many chances to put both of them up but for some reason didn't. She's definitely cemented her name into the BB legends board though.

Had Janelle won this season, I don’t know which season between BB7 and BBCAN5 would be my favourite ever. What a ride! The back and forth, Janelle losing her allies, Janelle being alone and despite being against the odds still made it far. I never get tired of seeing videos about her BB7 run!

It seems to me that Janelle’s biggest strength is just some incredible memorization skills. All Stars seemed to have comps that weren’t as reflex/strength oriented, and more puzzle solving in nature. Like I think the only comp Janelle won that didn’t heavily lean on remembering things is the week 1 veto (and I suppose the ‘what will you risk’ challenge, which isn’t really skill oriented so I don’t count it). I think that helps explain to me why Janelle was so above rate this season, because her best comp skill was so heavily represented in the challenge distribution, it made her way more likely to win.

Janelle didn't make your top 10 players video, but I think you should reconsider. I think you let her second two seasons tarnish her image in your eyes. But they don't undo all the things you just said in this amazing video (really, you are the BEST), and that's why she makes my top 10.

Janelle is the star of big brother. But she simply is not a great big brother player, because she never successfully demonstrate any kind of strategy. Obviously her comp win streak is legendary, but all she did was just keeping herself safe one comp at a time. She almost never had control of the house, never strategically reposition herself to a better place, and never made any great gameplay. And that is not even considering her season 14 and season 22 runs. Still love her though.

Idk what’s in our 11,842 lakes, but there’s about a 60% chance that, if a Minnesotan is cast on Big Brother, they’ll be a comp beast and set/break a record. Janelle (set the veto and total comp record, tied the HoH record), Michael (broke the veto record and tied the total comp record), and Hisam (first person to win 3 out of the first 4 comps of the season) vs. McCrae and some other BB15 cast member.

McCrae was pretty solid. He won the first HOH and Veto, and went on a mini hot streak in comps winning F7 Veto, F6 HOH, and F5 Veto, before he got eliminated in 4th place

I wish we got to see more of Janelle being a comp beast during The Amazing Race. I loved the dynamic between Britney and her on the race (Britney was super funny), but ngl she slowed down Janelle a bit and I would've really loved to see Janelle continued to conquer the race challenges as she did during the episodes they were there.

Personally, I find Michael's record a bit more impressive since Janelle definitely has the asterisk of the redo of the week 6 HOH. But there's no denying that Janelle's achievement is seriously awesome and there's a reason it took so long to even tie.

Michael also did play more strategically to manage his comp threat. The problem was that he was so good at comps to a degree where he could only keep his comp threat low for so long. Sure, he also should have thrown a few more comps that he won unnecessarily, but the man definitely showed real strategic chops within the house!

I would have to argue that he week 6 hoh should have an asterisk because the technical difficulties affected the outcome of the hoh so we don’t know what would happen. She won the fair version of the comp fair and square. Also most of michaels wins he wasn’t under any sort of pressure and Janelle performed times and time again under pressure so I have to give the edge to Janelle

Great video on my favorite bb player! It’s crazy to think that Janelle was one double tie breaker in season 6 and accidentally letting go of that key in all-stars in the HOH from making final 2 and likely winning either season. That’s why she was targeted right away in 14 and 22 because of her strong history.

Hey! I love your videos and I am a huge fan of you. Can you do a video/analysis on Alison Irwin from Big Brother 4? Everyone hypes up Dr. Will and Boogie but nobody talks about Alison. She slept with a contestant just to be saved from the chopping block and then backstabbed him two weeks later. She was also a comp beast, and a floater who played both sides. As much as I appreciate covering this topic, it frustrates me that Janelle is such a problematic figure within BB in addition to being an icon in terms of her entertainment value. Between her spreading various Covid conspiracy theories, to her being a Kyle sympathizer from last season, to her saying feeds should be removed because of “social Justice warriors” that take the feeds content out of context, I am just over her…… She will always have her fans and I get why, but for as much as Michael messed up in how he handled the Kyle situation, I would much rather focus on his comp achievements over Janelle’s!
