This is exactly the video I needed for figuring out grading and portfolios. I have my first high schooler next year and I want our portfolios to be on point starting this year. I just picked up your form pack, which is saving me hours of time. Thank you so much for taking the stress out of this element of homeschooling. I was scared and overwhelmed. Now I can breathe a deep sigh of relief and get to work. May God bless you in your endeavors. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Good day I truly appreciate all the information you have provided. I have also been searching and inquiring information about grading, transcripts etc. Somehow when I signed out of KZbin and went on as a guest your channel popped up on the guest feed. I am so excited for the 2020/2021 homeschool year for my three younger children. Respectful Thanks, Jade Jones

I'm just so blessed finding you on KZbin!! I've learned so much from all of your videos. When you feel like this KZbin job is not your calling, know that it has helped and blessed so many homeschoolers and please keep the videos coming. I'd seriously would watch you watch paint dry if I knew I would learn something from it. 💖

Excellent thanks… Can you make a video on grading middle schoolers with 4 quarter criteria or can we use the same principles that you explain for High schoolers ?? Thanks
@JanelleKnutson9 ай бұрын
Use the same principles for middle schoolers. Middle school is a great time to "practice" with grading and record keeping before your child gets to the high school years.

This is so helpful but I have a questions. Do you use these grade sheets when using BJU DLO? Thank you for sharing.
@JanelleKnutson5 жыл бұрын
Carmen Oliver I prefer pencil and paper so I will be using them with BJU DL but you don’t need to. BJU has it set up so nice for those who want less paper. 😊

I am so happy I found your channel. You are wonderful! My daughter does all her courses through FLVS in florida except math. We just started Math U See Algebra 2. I saw in this video how you did weighted grades. Are the 5 points for assignments 5 points for one chapter or 5 points for everyday your student does problems? Also the quizs are 15 problems so I guess you grade a point each? For tests do you take the amount of problems and divide by 100 to get the grade?
@JanelleKnutson5 жыл бұрын
I give 5 points each day towards participation for watching the instruction and/or doing worksheets.

My son is leaving the brick and mortar and is a sophomore. He also has an IEP and at an 8th grade level. How would I apply a grade(s) to his work?
@JanelleKnutson5 жыл бұрын
I would think the person working with you on the IEP would know how to handle that. Another great resource is HSLDA. If you are a member then you can talk with one of their consultants. I believe they have a special education consultant and high school consultants, all of which are a great help!
