I want it only because of the the Painting..The Lady of Shalott is a painting of 1888 by the English painter John William Waterhouse. It is a representation of the ending of Alfred, Lord Tennyson's 1832 poem of the same name. Waterhouse painted three versions of this character, in 1888, 1894 and 1915. Wikipedia

Love this video! I had glanced at some memorial press curriculum for this year but went another direction, this video makes me considered it for next year! Maybe poetry for the high school stage will be the next video?

I’m also not the hugest poetry fan, so having a guide over several years would be awesome! Since your last video I’m definitely thinking about adding Memoria Press Lit Guides along with our Sonlight next year for 3rd grade. 👍🏻❤️ I’ll have to see if any of them line up. 😊

I may have missed this being mentioned, but what grade level do you use this for? Could I use for high school, say 10th grade?

Are the poems God centered? Or at least stay away from magic and such?

Great question. Most of the poems are classic poems that you would find in most literature programs. There are several that are God-centered and the rest are just classic poems. I haven't read all of the poems yet but from what I have seen, none of them contain magic or anything questionable for Christian families. Examples of some of the poems covered: All Things Bright and Beautiful by Cecil Frances Alexander, The Wind by Robert Louis Stevenson, The Lamb by William Blake, Paul Revere's Ride by Henry Longfellow. Hope that helps!
