My first thought was "backsplash" bc it would be the most stunning & unique way to fix up a kitchen. I really love the fully covered tiles, but I'm totally digging the half covered tiles too. I think if I was to do this for a backsplash, I would have some fully covered & some half covered for a little added flavor & flair. I love this idea so much!! I want to do it in our kitchen!!!!!

I would maybe hot glue the tape on the bottom to the top of the cups, that way you could lift the tiles up and drip them all over the sides. Maybe an extra step but could help with moving them while wet. Love the way these turned out! ❤️

Wow, this is a great tutorial for new artists! I love pouring paint and resin on tiles, I haven't done too many on my channel but I just bought some more tiles at HD so I will probably be doing some more soon! My local HD doesn't have those hexagon tiles, they are my absolute favorite to pour on (I found some old used ones in a box years ago so I only had a couple :-( but I have GOT to get my hands on some more!!!) Very lovely tiles :-)

Love these! I wish I could find those tiles. We have been to several Home Depot and Lowe's stores and can't find them anywhere in the area. So for know I have to settle for square tiles lol. Love how the paints blend together so beautifully! YES, finally someone else who tapes the backside!! I am always surprised how many people don't tape the backsides or clean them up. I know a lot of people consider it part of the art. For myself I like the back to be nice and clean on any project. With years of art classes that was always drilled into our heads--the project isn't finished if the back or bottom isn't done. I guess the art instructors would be proud lol. Jane, thanks so much for sharing another great tutorial!! 💕

Hi, I am not sure if you have answered this question already but i am struggling with my resin as top coat. I also use Art resin. The reviews I have been getting for my coasters is that when people put a cup of tea or anything the coasts tend to stick to the bottom of the cup. I mix it the same way as you did in your tutorial and some of my coasts have been cured for over 6 months but it still sticks. Did you come across that problem and do you have any solution to that problem? Thank Summer

@judybillar7499
@judybillar7499 3 жыл бұрын
Don’t know if you got an answer but I think your tiles have some oil or something that got on them in shipping, Even oil from your hands can cause this. So before you pour the tiles should be cleaned with alcohol. Sorry if you already knew this.
@ansramz
@ansramz 3 жыл бұрын
@@judybillar7499 thank you! I cleaned them pretty well with alcohol but I figured the tiles are slightly concave towards the centre causing the resin to run inwards! The only way I was able to get around it was to 1) apply another layer and 2) wait until the resin was slightly cured and a bit more tacky so that it would've run as easily. Took a lot of trial and error but found something that worked! :)

Mary Hakkinen some brands yellow faster, some brands are toxic, some are for industrial uses, some are for casting, some cure faster than others, some are epoxy based, others polyester based. So to answer your question, no they are not all the same. However you can decide from brands that do what you’re looking for them to do. I suggest buying one that has HALS inhibitors and UV protection as well as one that has zero VOC’s and low odour.

what is the size of your tiles?
@michelerichter4
@michelerichter4 5 жыл бұрын
To me they look like what the hardware store calls 4" x 4" tiles that come in a box and some are separated with a thin piece of plastic or silicone string of some sort. I get mine from Home Depot and buy then by the box, rather than each piece. Less expensive that way. I also inspect each one prior to using for any imperfections of the surface of the tile - as occasionally they surface is missing the white porcelain overlay, or pieces of grit got caught while the white porcelain overly was applied or drying, or they are chipped or even cracked - I actually haven't seen a lot of this with the ones I buy from Home Depot or Lowe's but I have at other tile wholesalers, so just watch for those.. the actual measurement of most that you get from these places is slightly less than 4" x 4" but they are square.
