Guy walks in late and feels bad... Milton goes genius on him... Guy: ❝I'm sorry to be late.❞ MHE: ❝I think everybody is happy you're late. They all have a chance to get a good clear look at you.❞ (Notice how he accepts and flips the tardiness as being a good thing... this shocks the people. And it dissolves anyone's annoyance by making a joke) Guy: ❝I'm sorry they weren't late, then I could get a good look at them.❞ MHE: ❝That's your loss.❞ (still teaches the guy a lesson that 'when you're late, you'll have a loss')

More importantly, he informs him that he is now under close scrutiny, so that if he wasn't aware that every manifestation, both conscious and unconscious, was being observed, he is now. It automatically redirects his attention inward.
