Fun Facts ⭐️: This song was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (her longtime collaborators on most her albums) kinda like Quincy & Michael. The remix is produced by Teddy Riley (worked with Michael Jackson mostly) and performed with his group Blackstreet (famous for No Diggity) She wrote that song during the time her secret marriage with Rene Elizondo Jr. was falling apart in 1997-1998. This was voted one of the best R&B songs of all time on different platforms.

I Get Lonely is a unique, brilliant song in Janet's vast discography. Since you do appreciate old school R&B, maybe you should check out Janet's I WANT YOU. It was one of her less successful singles due to the Superbowl 2004 wardrobe malfunction incident, which cause her blacklisted from radio and video stations, significantly hurting the success of her singles and affecting her career since then, but it is a cool doo wop song with lots of lush vocals.
