I could be wrong but I seem to recall that Janet is a huge inspiration for Beyonce. Which is why Bee has big concerts like Janet. It's all pure energy & good choreo.

@@brutha84 Bey's choreo doesn't come anywhere as close as Janet's intricacy and actual complex movements. Beyonce is mostly twerking and jerky movements. Wasn't even necessary to bring her up at all, but yall always seem to find a way to do so.

Janet really shows how we can take our feelings, no matter how hurt, and channel them into something positive. This was probably one of her lowest moments, channeled into one of the best album and tour combos anyone’s ever seen! She cried recording this album, she said she came up with most of this tour herself. She really knew how to get her feelings out in a healthy way, and in a way that made her one of the greatest performers, on one of thee hottest tours, selling out this arena two nights in a row, when some couldn’t even fill it.
@KnotPhound
@KnotPhound 10 ай бұрын
Only few people have sold out many times in a row a show in MSG. The only examples I can think of are Elton John in 2000 and Prince in 1986 (who sold out four nights in a row). There's more than them, that's for sure.

Janet has always viewed her work as a team effort rather than an individual feat. I mean, where would she be now without the exceptional production guide of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, or the outstanding choreography of Paula Abdul? They and many others helped her find her own self artistically speaking and create all that excelent stuff, which is why she's always let everyone shine and put a bit of themselves in her own work.

Because we know that she and her team spent money on the finest dancers,choreography,special effects,costuming,appearances,quality sound, great beats,instruments,staging,background singers all behind a thinly veiled voice. Weak vocal talent yet she made millions...maybe even billions. Michaels pretty little sister could dance too...... after getting the best instruction.

Even with Michael as her big brother she had a rocky start as a solo performer. She came into her own in a really big way though. I saw her live and she gives a really good show. The costumes and choreography were on point. She can sing, she's beautiful, and had a rock solid body (check out those abs). She peaked during the time when the music industry was at its best. And she is one of the best. They don't do concerts like this anymore.

I saw her 1997 after MJ came to New Zealand. I didn’t even like her back then and was forced to go. Well, I loooooved the concert. Loved her dancers. Got home the next day got my tongue and nipple pierced painted my walls the colour of her curtains on stage lol😂 didn’t even ask my parents hahaha. Bought the concert on dvd and learnt every-single-dance. Word for word and was obsessed with her. Dressed exactly like her in the last dance “together again” only thing I didn’t do was get the tattoo on my wrist like her cos I was too young

Honestly, the GREATEST to EVER do it. I went to a Dreamforce convention for my company about 8 years ago and learned there would be a Janet Jackson performance. I thought it would be like a 30-min complimentary performance. Little did my life-long Janet fan understand, this woman would put on a 2.5-hour full concert for us. To this day... I have never experienced anything as amazing. Me and my colleagues lost our damned minds.

Wow, they went all out for Escapade! It was a very theatrical performance! Everyone was in costumes, and they had great stage props for it. I love how there’s lot of dancing all throughout the concert. Her choreographer Tina Landon is one of the BEST in the music industry! The band interlude right before rhythm nation was incredible! She really gave everyone their money’s worth! That was a spectacular concert!

I actually attended her Velvet Rope Tour Concert in Las Vegas back in 98 and was scared to blink in case I missed something bc she was just THAT GOOD and had so much beautiful eye-catching activity happening all at once on stage! And hats off to Qtip and her dancers that supported her during this show. I also watched it on HBO special later, but you really HAD TO be there to truly enjoy this one. This was by far the best concert I have ever attended. She will always remain my favorite female entertainer by far! ❤

I don't think she was ever as great as she was here, circa Velvet Rope. She'd just done an amazing album prior, followed it up with this album and went on tour at her peak. When this tour happened, she was just a decade into her career as we know it. It's now been TWENTY FIVE YEARS since this album and tour. Feels like yesterday. Where did the time go.....I saw this twice in the Bay Area and will never forget.

I was at Janet's Velvet Rope Tour show in Washington,D.C. and l had such a great time and enjoyed the show immensely. Janet is definitely one of the greatest performers and artists of all time. She really brings out the emotion and passion in all of her performances. She should have won an oscar for her outstanding performances in Poetic Justice and Why Did I Get Married because she is also a great actress. Janet helped pave the way for Beyonce, Rihanna, Monica, Toni Braxton, Brandy and other well known female artists of contemporary times. They all owe a her a debt gratitude for being such a trailblazer.
