No of course not! I am also 16, albeit a girl. I love 50’s music and have listened to songs like this since I was like 13 :)

Now let's start the show: romance of yesterday, described by our two youngsters, Janet Lennon and Brian Siebman, as they sing the cute novelty song "When Pa Was Courting Ma". I asked my pa, where did they go when folks went courtin' years ago with no amusements like we have today? The TV-set was still unknown: they just had Grandma's Gramophone. But, still, they fell in love, and life was gay. The didn't ride by motorcar, weren't so darn particular; but they got every bit as far when Pa was courtin' Ma. The movies didn't talk or sing; ragtime wasn't known as "swing": but, by heck, they could buck and wing when Pa was courtin' Ma. The barn-dance was a gay affair, the likes you'd never saw; and those folks sure had somethin' there when they did "Turkey in the Straw". Those were old-fashioned days, I guess. Still, those folks had some success, 'cause, when he asked her, she said "Yes", when Pa was courtin' Ma. The princess-dress girls often wear together with their piled-up hair is so much like what made them stare when Pa was courtin' Ma. Men think they look their very best [in] checkered suit and fancy dress. It seems to me that's how they dressed when Pa was courtin' Ma. If we had met in Pappy's time, how different would we talk? Sweet nothings surely sound alike to the square-dance or the Lambeth Walk. "I love you" are the words we say: so they were in Pappy's day. They said it in the same old way when Pa was courtin' Ma.

Whatever happened to Brian Siebmam? I can't find any info on him. I only find a Brian Monroe Siebman who was born 1945 in Santa Monica, California that was killed in Vietnam in 1971. But I can't confirm that's the same person.
