For those having issues about the lighting, please calm down... This just a cinematic feel that has more to do with camera settings... Everything is superb.💯

It's high time people learned that privilege and depression are not mutually exclusive. Gratitude too. You'll be shocked that the ones shining the brightest are in the most pain. Money, success, social standing et al is irrelevant in the face of mental illness.

Why do you think a ton of world celebrities and Hollywood elite end up committing suicide? Most of these folks are very lonely inside and put up a facade. Nobody really takes the time to ask them if they are o.k because sadly to society; having money= no problems...it's actually opposite.

Even if it was a podcast, I'd still listen. Light is a minor thing if you can actually see Janet and Kevin. The life in the words are the light one only need to see. Welcome back and thank you for this Janet.

This is phenomenal! The certitude of the matter is that despite the fact that Neurosis, a functional mental disorder, has sunk into our system and invalidated our cumulative civilization; mental illness is curable by Psychoanalysis - a clinical method for treating psychopathology through dialogue between the patient and a psychoanalyst. If truth be told; this program represents free association which is a form of psychoanalysis, whereby Janet Mbugua (the interviewer) is a psychoanalyst and the patient is the interviewee. Kudos!

This is very true! I work as a YouTUbe Life Coach in the USA and many of my Kenyan clients do have a stigma bout mental health. Kenyans leave their beloved country to come to a foreign land and start from scratch. Being away from home in a new culture with new experiences with children who are Americanized can be very difficult. I try to coach my clients in how they can cope.

I can identify with everything Kevin says. Unfortunately, not everyone has the suport from family or even friends. Or even access rehab. And so you have to maneuver your way out of all the emotional confusion. Depression and loneliness is a lethal dose by itself. It’s by God’s grace that you can ‘evolve’

Be kind to what? Do you know the people around them suffer alot with them? This people are not human beings, they can kill you in a blick of an eye ,coz there souls are dead. They dont have emotions, they lack empath. I dont like them coz this werewolf spirit can turn your life in a minute a nightmere. All cases of serial killers are from childhood trauma bond children.. the moment i know someone has childhood trauma brain, id rather take on my heels!

Stop invalidating other people's struggles just because you think you've had it worse! It's not the Struggle Olympics. Mental illness, just like Cancer, Diabetes and other diseases affects people from all walks of life whether poor, rich, illiterate, educated or whatever! It's not just homelessness, unemployment or such that causes depression. Sometimes it can be inherited(family history). People who live in difficult social and economic circumstances feel like they are the only ones who have the right to suffer from depression or any other mental disorder more than those that never lacked anything when growing up/those that are “doing well” in life. Depression doesn't care about level of education, wealth etc, it has everything to do with the chemical imbalance in the brain (neurotransmitters).

Hi Jeina O. Mental illness is not a competition on who has it worse. Just because your issues are different from his, doesn’t mean that they are not real or important. Empathy goes a long way and allows you to rise above self pity and victim hood.
