There will never be a "more deserving" person than Janet Paschal. I know she could never imagine this side of heaven, the lives and hearts she has ministered to. Most of us ole guys have at some point had a heart crush on her, but God had the "best" saved for her. Thank you John for loving and taking such good care of "our gal", and thank you for sharing this special event with us. Praying for you both!!

A Thomas, you gave a way a long hidden "secret"....so many of us older guys have loved her all of these years with mine going back to her early days with JSM and John Starnes. I am so glad she was able, with the grace of God, to fight off the cancer that would have taken her from us. Sadly, it has been almost 23 years since my own gift from God lost her own battle and went to be with Him. I just hope we still have many, many more years of being blessed with Janet's beautiful voice, her grace and her dignity.

I don’t think there could be any female Gospel artist as deserving of this amazing honor than Janet. Certainly because of her voice, her styling, phrasing, and enormous vocal power; but also because of her steadfast faithfulness and integrity. Congratulations Janet and John. I will never, ever forget a simple prayer in a corridor at Duke, just after Janet had finished a chemo treatment, and moments after I’d learned the news that my wife Carol would not survive her cancer journey. It will take our God to properly thank you both for the selfless act of comfort that day. May the Lord continue to bless you both richly. The best part of it all is that you’re in Heaven’s Hall of Fame....

Janet's music was an encouragement through some difficult times in the 80's and her cassettes where played in our car continually as we travelled the highways. Her spirit was contagious as she sang those moving, uptempo songs that would minister to us. I also looked forward to the Gaither videos she sang on in the years to follow. There is just something about the way Janet Paschal sings!
