I think the most scary thing about the conjuring 2 is when the text during the ending said that their mom eventually passed away in the same spot that the old guy died in his chair

I support her. I doubt it was hoaxed. This woman comes from a time when this occurred, she was just a child, scared, and unsure, trying to tell a story that many don't believe in. Imagine experiencing that, and most ppl don't wanna believe. You can see through her something occurred. I know I was not there, but this is one of the Most Highly Documented cases. The ones who say she's cracked out should seek out the Real Doc on it. There's more then her testimony, there's recordings, and images etc. When she was thrown from her bed, her body was almost positioned in a contortion type of way. It's not acting. What's really sad is after ppl see this they are like oh it's fake. Imagine if all you naysayers are wrong. You'd feel really ignorant then. Just because the child was laughing does not mean anything. She probably felt scared b/c to explain to an adult, and giving she was shy and coy. I wish them luck, and would like to say to them I'm on their side. One Love

Maybe later on in the future we can finally capture proof, etc. Anyway peace out.

I did not see the film; but, I know Mr. Playfair said it was mostly fiction, as well. If so, then that was a big insult to the family and to everyone involved in the case. I cannot bring myself to watch it for that very reason. The writers, producers, etc. were only interested in making money, and not getting out the truth of this very important story. What a shame and betrayal of the Hodgson's. I hope they, too, made some money from it, at least.

Probably more than that, those are who I’ve had conversations with. Oh, my grandmother and I saw something at the same time, two nights before my aunt died in our house. @stuartcertain6363
@stuartcertain6363 4 жыл бұрын
@aidsbrigade Thats no explanation! The windows were closed for a start. If you find the full sequence then you will see that the curtain grabs the bedcover, then they twist together before rising into the air. No one can accuse Janet of doing that, as she is laying on her side, facing in the other direction, and talking to her sister. There must be a good couple of ft between herself and the curtain. Most skeptics avoid the matter as they have no answers. At least you attempted, which is something. However, your suggestion is not tenable. Anyway, it wasn't the actions of the poltergeist that created it. It was caused by a vortex which ran between the Hodgson's house and our house.

I think the possession started when that Board was played with. I too, played with the board when I was a teen with friends.. one friends eyes rolled back, and all you could see was white in her eyes.. after she came back, she said she didn’t remember anything. You open a doorway that should never have been open, by inviting the dead in.. however, you don’t know, nor can you see what’s coming through that door way.. it could be a demon, or an untested earth spirit.. my advice.. God warned us about playing with stuff like this.. I wish I would have listened.

The Ouija board is a portal and there is a specific demon that comes through it. I will not name it but you can find it out easily. Spirits of the dead Do Not come through the board the entities lie to keep you engaged. The Ouija it is a tool used for communicating with demonic entities and by using this tool you give permission for anything to come in and enter your life. It was NEVER intended as a game. It is VERY hard to undo the damage caused by opening up to these spirits once you've initiated communication. Especially when you don't properly end each session using the board. Most people have no idea how to do this and It's like leaving your front door open when you go to bed at night. There are many stories of people throwing out their boards or even burying them and finding them later right back where they had been in a cupboard or a shelf.

I tried to call my parents but my voice wasn't coming out. I wasn't able to move. After a while it went away. I told my parents and grandparents about it. Stuart, I think there's supposed to be a, "t," on the end of Certain. At any rate, I'm very interested in this case, and would greatly appreciate any info you can provide. I did read Mr. Playfair's book, and watched the documentaries. I still feel there's something lacking, though. We don't know enough about the family, really. Why hasn't the younger brother been heard from, for example. I do understand that he probably just doesn't want to bother, because there is a lot of very annoying ridicule that occurs. What happened to the Mom, who now sadly is passed away. Mr. Playfair states only something to the effect that, "she had one breakdown; we didn't want her to have another." He gives no other information whatsoever about this unfortunate happening, I suppose out of respect for the family; but at least his story is factual and accurate. On the other hand, it is a shame that the sisters allowed a fictional recounting of their story in, "The Conjuring." It simply detracts from the importance of the events.

Noelle, that is very observant of you. How pleasant to talk with someone with an eye for detail, as opposed to the rabid remarks from blinkered skeptics such as 'aidsbrigade.' Yes, the issue of my name came about via a chat I had with 'the girls.' I was explaining my problematic eyesight to them and said that 'I couldn't be 'certain' as to anything that I saw at distance.' In the course of that discussion I repeated the phrase, with similar meaning and in a slightly different form. I said that 'I couldn't see anything with any 'certainty.' In the mind of a young Janet, there was a little confusion between 'certain' (being an adjective) and 'certainty' (being a noun). That's all it was. Janet liked words and their meanings. The first part of my name was dictated via the Ouija board. That's another issue, however.

i spent the first 12 years of my life in a house that had paranormal activity. i used to see shadows on the wall of my bedroom, i had a rocking horse that used to rock on its own and my mum told me years after us moving into our new house that she had witnessed toy train sets moving on their own and light switches being on when they were switched off. i had used a Ouija board when i was in primary school in the coat room with friends and the hand dryers came on on their own. As a 30 year old adult i now think maybe it was because of the Ouija board that there was paranormal activity or maybe it was just because the spirit was attracted to my energy because i am a very unique human or maybe it was a spirit of someone who lived in the house before we did. My mum told me years after moving house that i had told her that i seen a man and woman walking down the stairs but i do not remember this. i am really interested in paranormal as an adult and i just want to say to people that if you have paranormal activity in your house it does not mean that it is a bad spirit so try to take the time to find out about the spirit and if it is good or bad.

You're absolutely right Paul. The Warrens had minimal involvement in the case, and all information sources reflected that accurately until a year or so before the release of this factually inaccurate film. I've been interested in this case since it happened and without a doubt Grosse and Guy Playfair were the sole investigators involved in the case, with all other 'interested parties' only making brief visits, including the Warrens, who actually stayed for less than 2 hours. The SPR were called in by the Daily Mirror, who had been contacted by Vic Nottingham, a neighbour who witnessed the events. He called the police, who were unable to do anything, at which point Nottingham contacted the press. The Warrens are publicity seeking frauds interested only in money and fame, and the truth of this case is known to anyone who is familiar with it beyond this ridiculous film.

What p***es me off is when people say outright 'They're lying', 'None of it happened.....what a load of rubbish etc'. Ok, I, personally, wasn't there (I wasn't even born in 1977) so I can no more say it definitely happened than someone can say it definitely didn't! So by that logic, for the non-believers to outright dismiss it and state it didn't happen is just wrong. None of the family's or witnesses' statements have changed in over 40 years, you can see how disturbed Janet is today when she talks about it, the POLICE witnessed phenomena in the house and signed written statements detailing what they had seen. This family were under close watch by multiple people, and the media, for some 14 months, and no one saw them playing tricks. Pretty impressive!! I'm an Enfield resident (in fact, I live approx one mile from the house), and although I'm not trying to downplay what a difficult time it was for the family, I'm proud Enfield has something as incredible - that defies science as we know it - to our name! But of course, I don't relish in how damaged Janet is, bless her! I'd love to meet these sisters one day!! it would be amazing to talk to them about it!!

The only thing that has annoyed me about this interview is the fact that she is going on about the Warrens being there and saying it was a huge comfort. However the Warrens only stayed in the house for a couple of hours and told Maurice Grosse (who was the real person that helped the Hodgsons) that they could all make alot of money out of this. Maurice got angry and told them that this was not why he was there to help and The Warrens ended up leaving. I think Janet has been paid quite a bit of money to mention The Warrens in this interview when they wearnt even there long.

Even if we concede that this family appeared to have had a terrible supernatural experience, what does that mean for any of the rest of us? *We* didn't have that experience. We didn't suffer through any of this stuff. So what does any of this prove? Even if we show the discretion and sensitivity not to call them liars and fakes, that does not obligate us to be credulous and cooperative, either. There is a very restricted, limited value to someone *else's* experience, if we haven't directly shared it, and they cannot prove it to the rest of us. Regardless of what we believe about this particular story and this family, I think that breakdown in our collective ability to really truly share our personal experiences, and especially our deepest and most profound ones like the ones in this film, is one of the most tragic aspects about humanity. We have these big brains, and we are very social creatures, yet there is so much of our lives that we cannot effectively and successfully share with others. Part of that is because others are closed off and not receptive. But a huge part of it is because human experience is all too often such a subjective, intangible, ephemeral thing. Much is lost because of that. It also means that we must be careful that we don't expect others to automatically believe us, when we know we cannot definitively prove that what we say we have experienced ever really happened. We are not entitled to be believed or heeded. And that is a sad, lonely component of humanity. So much of our lives is just our own, and cannot ever be fully expressed to anyone else, for we are finite creatures. We are all to some extent ultimately alone.

I've told others this, when it comes to supernatural type stuff, you won't really believe until it happens to you and slaps you in the face, coming from someone who has seen something and still questions it till this day and I know it was real but my mind still tries to auto excuse it's way out, And the few experiences I had including the most scary experience was when I was completely relaxed and not looking for anything, but I never expect anyone to believe my experience bc if I still question it bc it was so shocking till this day then the best you can get is ppl that are intrigued and find it interesting, it's definitely something you have to experience otherwise it doesn't work

@@nekocekoBiHMK Thats not how it occurred. The Warrens had the rights to the making of a film, based upon the book by Guy Playfair. However, the original book title was different. I believe it was titled - 'The Enfield Haunting' - or something similar? After the rights to the book, and any future film, were purchased by the Warrens; Playfair changed the title of his book to 'This House is Haunted' and had it published under that title. That caused the Warrens to threaten legal action, believing they owned the sole rights. However, they'd been outsmarted by Playfair who drew up the agreement at his own suggestion. This meant that the Warrens could only lay claim to the book under its original title. So, Playfair pocketed a large sum of cash, but continued to earn royalties from the same book, but under a different title. I believe that a further deal was done, after much wrangling by the Warrens advisors, whereby they had sole rights to any film adaptation, but in turn they would not contest Playfairs control and earnings from the book. In short, they had to accept that they'd been outdone by Playfair. That is why the TV adaptation credits Playfair with his advice, but the film version makes no mention of Playfair being present during the case. The Warrens just cut him out of the film, as though he never existed. The point of all this, is to show how the Hodgson family had no rights, whether in book form or film version, to royalties from either. In fact, they earned nothing. However, the Warrens, in order to advertise their film as being 'based on fact,' needed to enlist the help of both Janet and Margaret, as well as Graham Morris (the newspaper photographer at the time) to back up that claim. So, I think it goes without saying, but that both Janet and Margaret (and Graham) would have been offered financial incentives to do so. But, so what? Whether you believe in this case or not, surely the right people to earn from this were Janet and Margaret? After all, everyone else had 'picked the bones' from this case.
