@@stanfordcatcayman1407 I remember feeling like I'd witnessed some kind of a miracle when I'd see the extended version with the chair dance on MTV, they didn't show it very often! We had this album on cassette in my household and I remember the song did cut off after the, "that's the end?" I just did a search for the full Rhythm Nation short film (it's about 30 minutes long); this is the first full song featured (you do hear a bit of "Black Cat" during the initial scenes inside the dance club) and includes the extended dance sequence ("That's the end? NO!").

The director of this video said Janet was OBSESSED making this video RIGHT. They did close to 100 takes altogether when tallied up. Every time everyone thought they did the PERFECT take, Janet would turn around and ask, "Gee, do you think maybe we could do just one more ?" All the dancers worked tirelessly with Janet. When you think about the crappy videos put out today. The decision at the time to film the entire Rhythm Nation video in black and white was spot-on. There's a classic iconic look here that jumps off the screen. A Classic !

I was 22 when this video hit. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Shockingly pretty woman. Like the Marines doing a drill? Broadway dancing? Club dancing. The timing of these dancers is incredible!? 20 move as one. We didn't know what hit us.
