I originally made this documentary in 2016. I've been tweaking it over the years to streamline it and to update some of the factoids. In short, I'm never satisfied, and I want to make it better. lol

The scene where the two girls are saying how that album changed their lives (6:37 to 6:49) was very hard to watch without ending up in tears yourself. It still is 30 years later. This is an example of the legacy that this album left behind, because it affected so many young people who took the time to listen to what Janet had to say. I should know, I was one of them.

You ain't wrong there. I also experienced it, the song, album, video and even the concert. I went to see the Rhythm Nation world tour at Wembley Arena in 1990. I'm more of an old school heavy rock/metal fan nowadays and have been to many of those concerts. None of them even came close to matching the Rhythm Nation concert. *it was amazing*

This video made me cry, brought me joy and impressed me. I discovered Rhythm Nation in 2015, almost 10 years ago and since then I have been completely in love with Ms Janet and always try to consume everything I find about the production and performance of her albums. I was born in '98, I didn't live through the height of Janet's successful days, but her discography and legacy are enormous gifts I received from life. Thank you very much for this video, sending love from Brazil. ❤

This was absolutely brilliant. Janet is so great. However let us not forget... in a 100 degrees of separation, We have the actions of Prince to thank for all of this. Without Prince, there wouldn't have been The Time, without the Time, there wouldn't have been Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and Jellybean Johnson, without them, there wouldn't have been Janet-Rhythm Nation and the vehicle to change the world with this message. It takes a village and the village won.♥💟
