There is a solution! You can try to contact Lego customer service. Or, if you have a huge Lego collection, you can try to find that piece there. I personally have a huge box of Lego sets taken apart. I recently used it to find a brick for Downtown Diner I got for christmas.

My favorite factor about product development (Lego products, videogames, etc) is when they incorporate easter-eggs and if they tie in nicely like this set did. So many awesome references to classic modulars, it's crazy and well done.

since the last lego set I bought was the Green Grocer set many years ago, I'm pretty amazed at how many new little pieces have been added recently! It seems like you can now fit so much more detail into such small spaces! (I'm also still impressed by the fact that these come with interiors at all lol)

very much enjoyed both the review and build videos. The build video was one of my favourites of its type. Sing it all as it went together, I didn't see much need for a review (obviously seen it in more detail than a review would break down) but this video proved me very wrong. it didn't even feel like a 20 minute video. thank you for your excellent service to the construction brick community.

I think the bag issue has more to do with the parts off an automatized sorting line, not sure how lego pulls parts for individual sets, but I would assume it's not done by hand but rather automative batching. Plus more bags means less opportunity for parts to go missing, if one large bag is breached in shipping, all the parts in that bag would then leak out everywhere and would cause for more damage control. Individual bags offer more package protection , and keeping smaller parts compact, and easier to find.
@JANGBRiCKS
@JANGBRiCKS 7 жыл бұрын
Nah it's a design decision. The Disney Castle has a similar part count & similar number of bags, but in that set they number them up to 11+. Death Star was similarly better-portioned with the part groups. I don't want the number of bags to change, I just want them to adjust the part-finding difficulty level by choosing to use more numbers.

If I re-bag a set I fill and label them according to the build sequence, i.e. if the numbering sequence in the book restarts I start a new bag. That way I can pick items out of sets, especially the Christmas ones. I do find the Lego packaging frustrating though as, like you, I don't want to have to open all the bags at once. It would be nice if they did a 'quick start bag' with ALL the parts to begin the build. Often we open bags(!) one then spend ages trying to find the unique one-stud part in the whole set that is needed to get past page one!

Yes! I have been waiting for this review - great job Jang! I don't have time to read all the comments, so it may have been mentioned - I thought the Thor hammers used for the middle building were a nice touch (although challenging to align properly). I agree with your assessment on the bag numbering and the roof patio (seems like a missed opportunity). One other detail I thought was weird was the way the back stairs were built (the bases look awkward). What's interesting about Assembly Square is that there are so many amazing details, and it was a fun set to put together. But overall, it's not my favorite modular. When you put it with the other buildings, it sort of "blends in", and doesn't stand out to me like the others. I'm also not sure how I feel about the middle building being pushed back so far, just to make room for the fountain. I would have almost preferred that Lego did 3 standalone buildings (similar to the Pet Shop), which would have made display options a lot more fun. Plus, "fuller" and more complete businesses (like Brick Bank) would have been nice. Anyway, it's a very good set, but not amazing imo.

I love this set, and would definitely get it if I could. So many great pieces and colors, as well as minifigures. Only thing is I wish the wedding cake came with one of each extra toppers, so you could have a "hers and hers" and "his and his". I'm sure it comes with enough extra studs to do that, but it's more of the thought. Excellent review of an excellent set! Keep up the good work, Jang!

I know a lot of people in the U.S are gonna be mad about this but what I'm happy about is that here in the UK this set retails £180 whereas in the Us it retails for $280 which if you change into pounds it's a LOT more expensive than it is here. I honestly don't know why this is, this really isn't the case with any other sets ive seen. P.s I feel your pain Americans.

Detailed review Jang! I just finished the build today and I really like it. It suprised me just how much bigger it is then the other modulars, which is something of a problem for some peoples cities I might think. I had to move some modulars to the side (2 in fact) to fit this one in. Looks really cool in the middle though but had to sacrifice some other nice sets because of it being extra big modular.
