This might be the single best "interior" I've ever seen in a lego build of this size and price. It's just so detailed and cozy, I will definitely have to get this in time for the holiday season.

I really appreciate this set, for me is one of the best WInter Village sets that was ever created because... of the vibes. It is so family around here theme. You know, parents, gifts, kids, all family just gathers just to enjoy Christmas... wonderful. All in a landscape of a little family house and covered in snow neighbourhood.

Jang has no affiliations with Lego either . I find most affiliates never show the negatives and everything they show is all amazing to them.

The elves on the shelf left this set and Santa's Sleigh as a parting gift for us to build as a family on Christmas Eve while waiting for the big guy to deliver. This has become a new family tradition in our house at Christmas and it was great to sit down with my wife and two children to build LEGO together. We eventually finished it on Boxing day morning but when it was finished and displayed alongside some of our other Christmas themed LEGO I have to say I was happy to have suggested this build to my wife back in October. I was really happy with it and next Christmas it will sit alongside the next build on Christmas day (or Boxing day maybe) and continue our little tradition.

I wouldn’t try to change anyone’s mind, but I can see the value. If I had the space in my house I’d be tempted to get it. Ordinary I couldn’t see investing in any form of Holiday Village decoration, but the idea is growing on me at least in Lego form.

Hey Jang! I just built my set (got it for Christmas), and even though I’m late I’d like to say my complaints about the set. I also don’t think it feels like a $100 set with the substance there. As you said, a lot of the pieces are small (the tree uses a decent amount of pieces by itself). One thing I noticed while building it is the fact that two 1x2 (light blue) plates were put side by side, when a 2x2 plate could have done the same thing. Stuff like that and using two 1x3 bricks (side by side the long way) instead of a one 1x6 is another reason why it drives the piece count up without adding more substance to the build.
@drewcallant81013 жыл бұрын
At first glance I would expect this to be around $75
@Jennifer-tv4oj3 жыл бұрын
I think it is 100$ worth of stuff because when it is put together, the house is a fairly decent size. I do agree that it should have come with some food or pieces to make some food. I have the 1970s kitchen LEGO set, which comes with food on a one by one tile. Great set overall! You give a good, detailed review of this set!
@peterdevine45053 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great review Jang! I really love this set and mostly because of the great looking front and the open back area. My problem with the modular building sets is that it is hard to appreciate all the wonderful details on all the floors unless you remove the entire floors from on top of each other to see inside. This, to me, solves that wonderfully. You can have a fantastic looking front side and then turn it around and easily admire and interact with the amazing interior details. I hope LEGO does this with more building sets in the future 👍

Best Lego review channel on KZbin! I stumbled across your review of the Roller Coaster set while I was in the market to buy one (which I did) and was just thoroughly impressed by the amount of information that you included, your approach to determining value and even the calmness of your voice. I’ve used your reviews to help me decide on a few more sets since, and my impression usually aligns with yours. However, I disagreed with your assessment of Corner Garage. You really lowered my expectations for the interior portion of the build, yet I found it to be completely satisfying. I enjoyed the entire build and it’s the also the only one out of the modular series that my 6 year old is interested in as a play set. Anyway, love the channel!

I like that after Gingerbread House and Elf Club House we are back to a "normal" building to combine with the winter sets we had before like the Fire Station, Toy Shop, or Train Station. But I'll wait until next year when the set is no longer exclusive to the LEGO store.

Am I the only one who thinks Lego should label sets like this as 17+ instead of 18+? I know they're trying to say it's designed for older fans, but "18+" implies that younger people *cannot* have this product. The number eighteen is just too culturally synonymous with adult media and activities that children are forbidden from doing. Whereas a Lego set can technically be built and enjoyed by people of any age, so long as they have the necessary amount of patience and dexterity.

I like it and I _will_ buy this one. I opted out of the last _two_ Winter Village sets because I did NOT like them...just not my cup o' tea. THIS, however, is right up my alley. It will look great in my LEGO Winter village this year!
@LegoSonicBoy3 жыл бұрын
This is the first Winter Village set I've had any interest in, thanks to the light royal blue and the quintessential family home Christmas setting, but I wouldn't be able to build and keep it as is, because it's too festive for my layout and it's also a little large and out of scale compared to the buildings I have. But I think it could be worth it at a discount if for nothing else than having light blue bricks, my first Santa minifigure, as well as the experience of building it so I can learn me some techniques to use in my own buildings. I don't know if fully tiled floors are actually common in official LEGO sets outside of the Modular Buildings (such as my prized 10270 Bookshop, which has *no* studs on the ground floor of the actual bookshop); I only started noticing it outside the series with the Gingerbread House and Daily Bugle. I think fully tiled floors are more of an AFOL influence, for the worse. I understand that studless surfaces look more polished and are much easier to clean, but there really needs to be a better balance between studded and studless. Call me old-fashioned, but I actually don't even think scattering some jumpers here and there is enough. For example, there should be more jumpers closer to the kitchen countertops so I can actually have someone cooking, working the mixer or doing the dishes. I also wonder if they tested the chimney with 1 or 2 brickwork bricks and found that even those interfered with Santa falling down it. It doesn't seem like they would've interfered and would've added some nice detail, given that they were able to use 1x2 rounded plates which introduce even larger interruptions to the surface.

Agree that it's a super cute set - but also agree it's a large attrition of value for $100 compared to the 2012 Winter Village Cottage. That said, kicks butt in value over the $100 Gingerbread House, the $80 Train Station, which needed some serious modding to make the interior not suck, and the $100 Fire Station, which was pretty lame.

This is a really cool build, I'm a big fan of Christmas stuff and this house is just so charming and brings out feelings of warmth for Christmas time, I do feel like it's overpriced, they could have added a car and a pet of some kind, but I kinda agree that a full house build that can be opened in the back would have justified the price, but you gotta to admit, it really is very lovely, a few mods could improve this greatly, and don't worry Jang, about the big black boots bit, I didn't even flinched when you said it! I find the building's outside appearance a little plain compared to the other winter village sets. It is like a mini version of the Winter Village Cottage from a few years back. Get the gingerbread house while it is still available - it's fantastic except for the brick baby.
