kfishy If they know the historical background when where and why T composed this music . they will aware Janine Jansen is the right interpretation. Actually I show the Julia Fisher's version to my infant daughter, I listen to Janine's version by myself when daughter is not there

The only thing lacking in this video is coverage of the standing ovation she most assuredly received, which was probably comparable in length to that of the entire performance! I'm in tears...not to mention, in love :)

I can listen to this performance 5 or 6 times a day and not get tired of it. Tchaikovsky seems to have the "get under the skin" creativity that makes you hum and sing the music while you're driving with the radio off.

Such a virtuosic and sensitive performance of surely one of the greatest of the romantic violin concertos. I must confess that Tchaikovsky would be my favourite composer. It's an amazing performance with such vigour (see the violin entry here), rarely played with such attack. This isn't just a youthful performance either - there's a lot of thought gone into this. What a fantastic performance! The face wipe at the end before offering her hand to the conductor is pure kid stuff! Naturally, the conductor wouldn't settle for that and wanted a kiss on the cheek. Can you see the passion in her playing where she brings Tchaikovsky to life? Not just notes on a page and not just another pretty face with a violin and bow.
I so agree with you!!! You have good ears. She is amazingly gifted and a mature musician..true to the music at all times. Hope she will give a concert in San Fran, CA..she's not as well known as some of the other young engenu (sp?) but I believe she tops them all. I'm a violin player.

I play piano and am trying to learn electric guitar (at 59 yo...I just love the sound of a heavy strat or telecaster!...David Gilmour is my favorite).
