The simplicity and purity of this piece never fails to move me.

Between the lines came to me in the early 80s. I'm now 61 and it will forever be one of the most iconic albums of all time. Thank you beautiful Janis.

Geeze! I was born in 1950 and remember Janis Ian so well as her songs seemed pulled out of my life. Here she is all these years later and just as amazing! This is what art and soul is about.

She takes me back to a simpler time and life had a herbal essence literally like the shampoo with a wild flower sent not found today. Or like the song Afternoon Delight it just transport's you into an era of goldenness. The Fifth Demention Up Up and away 😂 like Bob Ross , HAPPY THOUGHTS 😺

Every Valentines Day, I listen to this song. To remind myself of what a creep I was in youth. I never turned around to see their pain.

Seriously, this has to be one of the greatest constructed songs of all time. I am 65 today (08 April 2024) and have loved this song since my teens. A truly haunting, reflective song, that really hits home, especially today, as my health declines. Janis still sounds the same, unlike many of her contemporaries. A masterpiece. Thank you Janice.

I don't think Janis thought this when she wrote the song, but her and other girls like her were the girls men married. Their experience made them more attractive and they proved to be keepers.

When she was younger , she sang this song and you could tell that she felt it. Now after all of her success, this song has lost its original heartfelt meaning. It’s now as if she is singing of someone else.

I WAS a college broadcaster IN 1976 when this was RELEASED. rick sklar PD of THE best t 40 radio station EVER-was out teacher. HE SUDDENLY brings in JANIS one day TO VISIT out CLASS in action. WE were all stunned to see THIS legend THEN in our class SITTING in the SAME class ROW as the rest of us. SHE was VERY NICE to call of us. AND this SONG. fantastic MELODY THEN as it still is NOW. and TOP 40 music OR CHR music NOW since 1981????? 99 % hellish NON melodies. YOU ALL think about what i am saying here. THIS WORLD NOW is a AWFUL mixture o 98 % FREE WILL EVIL and GODLY like evil WAY to much of every day. I LEARNED the truth AT 17 so said THE janis LADY.so says here SONG now to ADMIST no melodies. THINK ABOUT it folks HOW far AMERICA has INTENTIONALLY fallen since 1981 in all BUSINESS and SOCIAL systems AND in MUSIC.
