I saw JAA at a movie theater (no clue what it was called) in Vegas in either '96 or '97. The cops showed up to shut it down cause the venue didn't have a permit. JAA was on stage when it happened, so they announced that the cops were shutting down the show and then they played another song until the police actually unplugged all their equipment. I was 16 or 17 so I was loving every minute of the chaos.

Hey! I remember that too as I was the guitar player for JAA. We had been warned by the promoter days before the show it could get shut down because we were basically crashing the place without permission because he worked there. Bands had been playing for about 2 hours before we went on. I remember it being really hot that day and a few of us drinking beer in the tour van. We got inside to set up and started playing. Into the set I could see the cops coming in from theatre doors. We all looked at each other and yelled "keep going no matter what!" a security guard rushed over to my pedal board and was trying to unplug everything but I grabbed my main input and plugged direct into my amp with no option to switch over to a clean channel and I turned it up as loud as I could. Eventually the police came and unplugged the power from the back and said if i tried anything they would impound my gear and arrest me. So we backed off. What sucked the most was the fact so many people were there and having fun. We traveled so far for almost nothing. But hey, that's being a touring band for ya.. Lol
