Nobody but nobody plays guitar like Ronnie Earl. He sets a mood, he can make you move or he can make you think. He can make you listen in awe.

Totally fabulous. Janiva and Ronnie. I have seen both of them live, but not together. Fantastic guitar with Ronnie Earl's great feel. Play straight from the heart. And Janiva Magness is just terrific. Janiva is in the mold of the best blues singers in history. Bessie Smith, Janis Joplin and Janiva all throw themselves totally into a song. Leave no quarter. This blues room is on fire. Check out Janiva with Kid Ramos for another monster blues duet.

Amazing player, my favorite of all time. I just love Ronnie's phrasing. Wish I knew what that amp is that he is playing through I'd love to buy one, it sounds even better than his Super Reverbs.
@blusmahn Жыл бұрын
The one at the far right it looks like. Too dark to really tell but from the shape, knob layout, the brown faded color of the speaker cloth and guessing at the color looks like an 60's Ampeg Gemini 1 or 2.
@Alexaxe333 Жыл бұрын
I heard him in an interview saying he had started using Magnatone amps but maybe you are right. It really wouldn't matter with Ronnie that tone is so in his fingers that he could probably get a sound close to that with a Fender Fontman, lol.@@blusmahn
@blueeyesol10 жыл бұрын
As great as that was...and it was freakin' great, I would have liked to see them cut that organ player loose who really is outstanding in his own right! Very gracious of such a player to lay back and give the floor to the guitar and singer when he could have smoked the room himself!

What a stupid,clueless comment! Ronnie was doing his thing at the same time SRV was,just in different parts of the country. Maybe try having a clue what you're talking about before you show your ignorance.
@reidsmith87397 жыл бұрын
Dude just go back under your rock or wherever you live. You're the dumbass that said Ronnie Earl came much later,after Jimmie and SRV..he didn't! I didn't say that Jimmie and Stevie didn't play before then,of course they did.I didn't say that Ronnie didn't know and like them to..but he was doing his thing the same time they were..NOT AFTER you dense Dumbass! Jimmie didn't really tour till he was with the T-Birds after their first record came out in 1979,he met Duke when the T-Birds played up his way.Ronnie was in Roomful of blues soon after.I guess he didn't know how to play until he met Jimmie..lol So he was influenced by people he had never heard yet? Damn you are ignorant..lol This is my last response to you,i could have a more intelligent conversation with a stray dog!
@mrboat5806 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Ronnie's been around a long time too. I don't hear SRV in Ronnie's playing. As a matter of fact, is why I started listening to Ronnie Earl was because he had made it his own with all the classic Fender tones. Excellent player. The other great thing about Ronnie Earl is he is not so much a show boat and lets the other band members strut their stuff too. Great blues jam band all around, really.
