Shri Krishna Janmashtami is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. It usually falls in August or September, on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada, according to the Hindu lunar calendar.

At midnight, the exact time believed to be Krishna's birth, a special "aarti" (prayer) is conducted, and devotees offer sweets, fruits, and flowers to the deity. The event is a time of great joy and devotion, reflecting the deep spiritual significance of Krishna's teachings in the Bhagavad Gita and his life as described in the Mahabharata and other scriptures.
