I grew up playing Grand Turismo! I have every GT game, including GT7. I'm 42 years old and I had always dreamed about being a race car driver. I've been following him through the GT academy since the reality show was on cable. I rooted for him so hard because I myself as him. When he won I cried like a baby because I was living through him! He is still doing it big today! I will be getting my racing license next year

I was one of the first to see this film when it came out in Canada and teared up. It’s beautiful to witness a child’s dream come to fruition. That level of confidence and conviction from an 8 yr-old, is what I strive for today at 31 🥹 Thank you for this interview and asking questions that reveal parts of his character and nature that I can learn from. I just saw it and Gran Turismo is hands-down the best movie I've seen all year! It really had everyone rooting for the underdog and it made it even more high-stakes because it's a true story. The ACTION sequences were AMAZING!!! Like some of the best cinematography I've seen-- the sweeping drone shots, the wide-angle shots of the cars racing and then the closer view of them on the tarmac.... like that director was doing something right!!! Everyone was so engrossed in the movie in the theatre. We were laughing, clapping, and gasping at every other scene. Just such a cool experience. Jann Mardenborough is truly someone to admire.

So glad I got to watch this movie. As an African American who is a car enthusiast, its a very spartan space to be in. Most black ppl take interest in football, basketball or any other cliche hobby/interest. I feel like an outsider to the community. But its so refreshing to see someone so young & passionate who looks like me that followed their dreams and defied the odds. Anyone who knows me knows I love cars. I'm more of a JDM/Tuner kind of guy but also hope to own some exotics someday. This movie basically acted as accelerant for an already burning passion for cars/motorsports. I might see it again!

Jann and GT academy changed the game honestly. Most professional racing teams now have “esports” racing teams, and even Top level racing teams, even in F1 have their drivers do driving on simulators to test settings and get track time virtually now.

Me and my son went today because it’s his 20th birthday today…. Yes I know he’s grown but he still like hanging out with his mom…. He’s in college but he wanted to be home on his birthday…. I was so emotional watching this movie…. But I didn’t let him see me cry….. this was my son as a kid…… my baby was two years old when he found the love racing games!!! Ironic my husband was playing GTA….. we would turn it on, on purpose just to see him run to our room when he heard it come on….. I never once thought my son would have a passion for racing… and yes in the movie I was the father because as the years and hours of my son playing the game I would tell him you don’t want to that it’s dangerous and it’s not a career for us 👊🏾and only for 🤚…… I believe that’s why I was crying in the movie theater…… as his mom I always protected both my son and my daughter…. But I feel like I took away my son hope that he could have been an race car driver one day y’all don’t know the emotions I was having when we left the movies…. Then he said mommy I always felt like I wanted to be a race car driver… I swear I never ever actually heard him say it out his mouth….. but he said afterwards mommy I love and thank you for taking me to see this movie!!!!

I was hoping to hear questions like: 1. Was Nissan really considering choosing the runner up for press reason? 2. Did you stay with the girl in the movie or was that ficticious? 3. Did the deceased family get compensated for the death? 4. Was the police chase scene real? Etc... more stuff from the movie and maybe elaborate more on the movie content itself to understand what was real or not, but nevertheless, it was great to see this interview.

First off saw the movie while at the red cross giving platelets awesome movie loved it. Ive played GT and ACC n such and ive been a racing enthusiast since 1985 and a gamer even before that. Racing simulators/video games are awesome i love em. However imho i think Jann found out (sadly the hard way) they dont simulate things like air flow and such very well. When he was heading flatout into the uphill of the flugplatz in the movie i thought to myself "settle the car settle the car" ..and then we know what happened ofc.. Just absolutely jaw dropping brutal crash.
