After Wimbledon, Sinner really stepped it up and deserves to be in the Top 5. He won his first Masters in Canada, reached the final of the ATP Finals and won the Davis Cup while beating Djokovic twice in November in Singles. @marco14911 ай бұрын
@@mireafelder8194 Hey Epic Wimbledon final….2 years gap is not really a big deal, Nole started to be a real crack when he was 24. What really matters is the consistency of your wins, you can start winning 2 or 3 majors per year for 10 years starting when you’re 25 up to 35 and you have basically caught up with Djokovic. As well as you can win 2 slams when you’re 20 and lose your way from 21 forth and winning nothing. It happened in the past. Time will say, but that wasn’t my point. My point was that what it’s evident today is that Sinner is giving a hard time to all the best players in the world, including The GOAT. Things can change quickly in tennis…

Even in slams last year again still as an up and coming player it was mostly just 5 set losses deep into the draw, showing that just a few shots go differently then you have a whole different outcome. Strong start to the year. OR Strong end to the year. Which would you rather?
@SwanTech606111 ай бұрын
tbh sinner had both, his start to the year was strong and between the post-ao hard court season and monte-carlo he was the 3rd best player on tour. his end to the year was even better from wimbledon onwards he was definitely the in the top 2 of best players during that period, arguably ahead of djokovic. it was only the middle of the year from barcelona to the start of the grass season that was subpar from sinner. if he has better results in that time of the year and makes deeper runs in slams, he could get much closer to no.1 in the world than he already is. i think i did hear though that his allergies flare up around the same time he had his mediocre run (mid-april to mid-june).
