Highlights of the final match between Dominic Thiem, the world No. 3 and Jannik Sinner (18-years-old at the time) on the hard-court of the Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. Thiem went on to win his only grand slam title at the 2020 US Open (coming back from 2 sets down against Alexander Zverev in the final) just weeks after he won these exhibition events in Berlin.
In his career Dominic Thiem won 17 ATP Tour singles titles, he reached three other Major finals, finishing runner-up at the 2018 and 2019 French Open to Rafael Nadal, and at the 2020 Australian Open to Novak Djokovic. Thiem was also runner-up at the 2019 and 2020 ATP Finals, where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev, respectively. His game consists of very powerful forehand and one-handed backhand but also great variety - backhand slice, kick serve, net game. Unfortunately he'll retire at the end of the 2024 season after going through a turbulent few years due to a wrist injury,
Jannik Sinner on the other hand is currently 22-yards-old and has already won 13 ATP Tour singles titles, including a Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australian Open (beating Djokovic on the way) and two Masters 1000 titles (Miami 2024, Toronto 2023)
