This is exactly what I needed for a "free" ottoman I found on the street. Didn't know how to attach & "plump" up the top foam portion to the board. Thank you!

I hope you enjoy this DIY ottoman tutorial. It's one of my favorite things that I've ever made for our home! ✅ 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐃 - (𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬) ✅ 1″x 10″ boards - need 4 pieces to make a box ✅ 1″x 12″ board - need 1 piece for center support ✅ 4″x 4″x 96″ board - need 1 piece for each corner of box ✅ 3/4″ plywood for top piece ✅ 4″ foam cut to finished dimensions of ottoman - amzn.to/3TOJfat ✅ Upholstery batting - amzn.to/3VPvzh9 ✅ Fabric - Will need enough to cover top and box. I used approximately 3 1/2 yards of 54″ wide decorator fabric. ✅ Piping or cording - 1/4″ - optional - amzn.to/3F6CFb8 ✅ Flannel interlining - optional - I like to cover the batting with interlining before attaching the fabric - amzn.to/3Fml6nN ✅ Drill and Phillips head bit - amzn.to/3Ts900j ✅ 1 1/2″ Phillips head screws - amzn.to/3gz8LSR ✅ 3″ Phillips head screws - amzn.to/3MSOEen ✅ Pneumatic Stapler - (Similar to one used in video) - amzn.to/46sPTtp ✅ Pneumatic Staples - amzn.to/3sTZGdp ✅ Air Compressor For Pneumatic Stapler - amzn.to/3sROgqx ✅ Stapler - amzn.to/3DlRsgR ✅ Staples-amzn.to/3SjAyUo ✅ 4 Legs and top plates to attach the legs to the ottoman corners - amzn.to/3MUxCwk

You do not know how thankful I am for finding your video today! I was looking for a pillow case tutorial as I am making one for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. I have a very comfortable chair that was my mother's for many years. I had it re-upholstered just a few years ago. What are the chances that I found the very same fabric on line that matches this chair!! Our local shop closed up as they were ready to retire. I am so excited to receive my fabric and start on this great winter project! God Bless You! Now to get the man started on cutting the boards for me!! Are you available for any questions or help??

Thank you, Thank you so much for this detailed video.This is exactly what I needed . You have explained every single step very patiently and beautifully . I am planning to do it little bit differently though, I would rather attach hinges or make it sliding sideways to make it a storage box too. Thanks again.

Dear Jann, Thank you for such a thorough tutorial for making an ottoman. You're a great teacher! I'm about to do my first project, recovering a vintage footstool, as practice run for two ottomans that need new fabric. I'd really like to get the stapler/nail gun you use here, but the link you provided to Amazon is for a different, unavailable stapler. Could you share where to get the stapler/nail gun you're using in the video? Thank you again from a new subscriber/student!
@JannNewtonSewOften Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I bought the stapler shown in the video probably 15+ years ago when I was operating my drapery workroom. It is no longer available. I looked at the current pneumatic stapler option from the drapery/upholstery supplier that I used, and have linked the pneumatic stapler, staples for the staple gun and the air compressor that I use in the description of this video. It's also linked in the first pinned comment. Good luck with your project!

@@JannNewtonSewOften Thank you so much for doing that! I just found a product by Sailrite that looks similar to what you used; I'll check out your links now. I hope to do a decent job on this. I appreciate your encouragement, and the tutorials! Have a great week!
