JANO’s Multisectoral Nutrition Governance Approach in Bangladesh

The Joint Action for Nutrition Outcome (JANO) project funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation, led by CARE and supported by Plan International and ESDO, has achieved significant milestones in nutrition governance, multisectoral approaches, women empowerment and food systems transformation in Bangladesh. JANO closely worked with the Government of Bangladesh to support the quality and effective implementation of the second National Plan of Action for Nutrition (NPAN-II). The project strengthened coordination and cooperation among service providers, stakeholders, and communities at district and sub-district levels. JANO worked to contribute to ending malnutrition in children under five years of age, together with improving nutrition in pregnant and lactating women and adolescent girls. The project aimed to enhance maternal and child nutrition through the implementation of strengthened nutritional governance and multisectoral approaches with community engagement in the Rangpur and Nilphamari districts of Northwest Bangladesh.
