oh my god, I'm sold. The introduction to these features is so great. I have a Viking 1+ and I need something simplier.

I did a thorough study ,for my replacement to my old Jenome machine. I had it narrowed down, but your tutorial is the reason I bought this machine. Thanks for being the friend, I never met😉

I bought one for myself for my birthday on 5/11/20 and have been nothing but thrilled. Upgraded from a basic mechanical model because I got bit by the green-eyed jealousy monster. LOVE the lock-stitch and the auto-cut!! Thank you for explaining the horizontal foot option, I was kind of lost as to when I'd use it.

I bought one of these at a quilt show in March. In fact, out of group of 4 show attendees, 3 of us bought one! This is a great little machine for the money! Love the cutter. Saves a TON of thread. Had a Janome for over 20 years and still running like a top. Just wanted a lighter machine for group meetings etc. Excellent value for the money! Mine came with quarter inch foot, walking foot, etc. A DEAL!

This machine also comes with a table. This makes sewing so much easier because you don't have to keep your project in your lap.

Your comment regarding brand name machines, at mark 6:49, where you said “…to run” is not totally fair. A sewing shop I worked for, sells machines in house, but also sells Janomes through Amazon. This is not a fair statement for small businesses that are trying to make a living selling legitimate machines on line.

A wonderful tutorial..thank you so much..I have this model & I actually gained more info. watching you..I am a basic beginner..You are a great presenter...I have a question regarding needles...Do you use Janome needles? There are various needles..Red..Purple..Blue..etc..Can you recommend some info. regarding needles? Thank you once again...Jan
@TheEvie202 Жыл бұрын
Use Organ from Japan or Schmetz from Germany both excellent quality. Usually size 14 90-95% of the time . Unless you see a lot of Lycra or leather those require specialized needles.

Will this machine mount into a sewing table? I like to have a flush sewing area. Do you suggest otherwise as in just sitting on top of a table? If so, why. Also, does this have an auto needle threader? Thx for the feedback.

Is this machine good for leather work?
@robinkinley68514 жыл бұрын
I’d be looking at a heavier duty Juki or the like...
@HandmadeByLinanne3 жыл бұрын
I’ve other Janome machines, & purchased this little dynamo for traveling & classes. Yes it can handle leather, but would suggest a more heavy duty machine if you’re into bag making & leather work. That being said, you can easily use the 3160 for bag making classes. I love my Janome Continental M7 or 15000 for heavy duty work, but prefer the M7 for bag making because of the generous visibility & larger work area.
