I’m in the US and watch you regularly. My Janome dealer wasn’t aware of your videos and was excited, especially about the little projects. I actually have an M8, but the concepts work regardless of model. Thanks much.

Another great video, thankyou. Trimming the overedge stitch on the flower centre was very effective.

A great tutorial. I never realised you could cut the threads in between the letters. What a difference it makes. I’d also love to learn how to use the App to program stitches on my machine.

Do you mean the Stitch Composer? I haven't used it much (so many stitches already!) but there's a great bunting stitch on the new 9480 that I may have to replicate! X
@alexandra-zaza-burns9 ай бұрын
@@janomestitchclubuk yes it’s the stitch composer. I’ll have to look at my machine for that stitch as it’s the new 9480 that I have. That machine has so many fabulous features and amazing stitches that I find something new every time I turn it on.

My computer glitched and I lost my comment 😪 I did enjoy this tutorial. I have a Skyline 9 and I have had it since about the time they first came out, but only this year, spending a lot of time with it and the neat features. Mostly it has been used for piecing quilts. I have never been sure if I could snip those threads between letters, so I will have more confidence to do it now. Until you used it I didn't realize that the symbols had their own spot to add them in. I don't know how long you have been using Janomes but those symbols were available with the Janome Memory Craft 9000. I think perhaps the 8000 but I am not positive. I still have a 9000 so I that is as far back as I can 'research'. I like the fact that they can be used easily on our machines. I would love to see how to upgrade my S9. When I talked to my dealer she said that I had to upgrade my machine to use my presser foot for using quilt templates. I can't move my machine as it is too heavy and my husband isn't in the best of health, so I haven't been able to take it to the store to have them do it for me. I'm scared that I will do something stupid and mess up the computer in my machine. Years ago at a yard sale I found two booklets on using the decorative stitches on the 6000 and 7000 (pre embroidery machines). Very thorough I think with a lot of designs that I could use even now. On the back cover of the 6000 booklet that I think was published in 1983, they had written "The Ladies Computer"!! I couldn't help but laugh as, here in the US, PCs didn't become poular until the mid 90s. The computers that people had at that point were clunky things and my BIL who had one of those said his had 1MB of memory and he couldn't see any reason to have more than that! He has upgraded since then. My first computer had 210 MB of hard drive. Now thumbdrives have more than that. Sorry for talking your ear off. Thanks again for a very clear explanation of using letters.

There is a ruler foot for the Atelier /Skyline which is adjustable so it can work with different makes of rulers.Check on the Janome US website there is probably a video too. www.janome.com/accessories/sewing-machine-feet/1_4-inch-ruler-foot-26767629/

Carol So pleased I have just watched this video, my first one!, as I had my first go of sewing a name on a new baby's comforter - with very little practice. Should I have added a backing as the comforter was already two thicknesses? Also I didn't know to cut the stitches between the letters though couldn't really see them as was quite thick but very soft material. I will certainly watch your videos in future, thank you so much.

If it was 2 layers that would be supported enough.There is also wash away stabilizer which can be used on fluffier fabrics to stop the stitching getting lost. Glad it helped 😆

Hiya I don't think this model has alphabet stitches in it. You could try freemotion embroidery fir a more freestyle writing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2bMen2gp8itgZosi=kV9x3aFqzPgwHyUv
