Seriously, I love the heroicness of this theme. I remember that when I was a kid I used to do this level over and over just for the music. It's just so epic, the way it contrasts with running through the level like a madman while the pirate ship blasts basically everything apart... Loved it.

Same, I replayed it all the time, I think it's the first point in the game where you really feel like things are turning around, even if you are still on the run

Rayman was and still is the childhood favourite of mine, when my mom didn't want me to own a console as a kid, the Rayman games for PC was the only thing I had. Rayman is truly kick ass, so is his games, with exception for raving rabbids, of course.

Rayman 2 revolution would be the best one of those 3 tough it has english voice acting (it also has the raymanish voices) and it doesn't have a stage select it actually has a hub world like grunty's tower in Banjo Kazooie

Funny how I realize just now how AWESOME the soundtrack was. I guess I didn't pay too much attention as a kid (I mean, I was mainly playing games for fun *Zelda, Spyro, Mario, random kidmovie adaptations, Rayman... as a kid, I didn't think much of them... except they were pretty fun to play* things changed when I got to play FF9 however... the artistic side of games hit me like a tons of bricks ever since I played this game). It reminds me of some Elfman music.

that cutscene alreayd occured on the n64 and pc version as far as i know, but there are still 1000 lums. the last one is hidden in the tomb of ancients, right before you jump into the coffin to the river ride, jump left and there is a hidden section behind a wall.

@SomeFluffer64 Me too. It seems foolish not for Ubisoft not to make an HD remake of this game for Xbox Live since there's still a crowd out there who have not experienced this timeless classic. I think it should be a combination of the assets from the Dreamcast and PS2 releases with achievements and online multiplayer thrown in as well.

Rayman 3d is pretty good. There's still 1000 lums to collect, and the gameplay is the same. However, there are quite a few glitches (The opening narration is gone, the 1000th lum requires some glitching to get, audio cutting off/appearing where it shouldn't). It seems like it was rushed to be released on launch day, however if you just want to experience the game again, get it. The glitches are fairly small, and don't affect the game that much.

Because graphics nowadays are wayyyy better than then... they should remake it for x360 >:D and put in achievements! (like; get all 4 masks, save the globox children from the island, defeat robo-clark, heal clark etc. but, not to forget... Befriend the running missile >:D)

@Klagmar Speaking here's a list of all the ports: N64, Dreamcast, PC, PS1, PS2, DS, Game Boy Color, and....that's it. Wow, just goes to show this game is a great example of a great platformer. Super Mario 64 has nothing on this.

Even though I'm a HUGE Rayman fan, I've neither had a chance to play Rayman 2. I have Rayman DS, but it SUCKS! Which version of Rayman 2 should I get, I can't get the Dreamcast version, any help would be appreciated.

Reach a certain score on The Disc is WAY more worthy of an achievement than befriending the walking shell, in my opinion. Get 1000 Lums and 80 Cages... get a certain time on Pyralums and Weblums, don't get killed for 10 minutes on The Disc, find the secret 1000th Lum...

Rayman 3D was a remake of a bad PS2 remake... The 1,000 was reduced to 999 in an added effect in a cutscene that made no sense. The opening narration was removed, and ingame voices replaced with childish squeaky sounds.
