Potato gratin with anchovies or other small fish in cream has been a traditional potato casserole in Sweden since the early 20th century. Nowadays it is hard to imagine any winter holiday in this country without it, especially Christmas holidays. All in all, quite simple ingredients make a beautiful looking, flavourful and tasty casserole. Juicy and appropriate for the Christmas holiday in all respects, one of them being the pleasure of eating it.
You will need:
Potatoes 1.2kg
Onions 400g
Garlic 2 cloves (optional)
Anchovies 200 g net
Cream 35% cream 500 ml
Milk approx. 250 ml (optional)
Sugar 1 tbsp (optional)
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste (white pepper is better)
Breadcrumbs to taste
Butter about 80 g
Dill (optional)
Caloric value of this potato casserole - 179 kCal/100 g (Nutrients: Protein 4.8 g, Fats 11 g, Carbohydrates 14 g)
Cooking time - 1 hour 40 min
