This is my second launch off of South Mountain Az. I'm still a very new pilot and every time I watch this video I see more and more errors (so many) that I will need to correct. Shortly after launch (around 1500ft AGL), I was able to find a little lift and was able to stay around 1100ft for about 5 min until I lost it. Not bad for my first thermal attempt. :) I set up for my landing and had what I thought was a great glide angle. I hit a small thermal on my final glide (those dry river beds can put off heat), so I needed to make some course corrections to add some distance to my glide and still land near target. Single stage flare and soft landing, keeping my wing up until I could get to a safe place to set it down. A successful flight and more information to add to my experience. :)
