New subscriber! I literally just did my first doordash delivery today to help supplement my financial goals. Roads weren't great so I just did a few deliveries, but it was a good start! I'm hoping to just do 1 or 2 on my way to work and on my way home! It'll add up over time. Loving your plan! You got this!

Nice job for writing out your goals and the plan to get there. Since you do contract work and other side hustles, don't forget to include deduction for taxes for each of those jobs. That will save a lot of surprises at tax time.

How is your car insurance so high??? Have you shopped around for other companies?? I’m a 31 year old male and mine is only $78/mo for full coverage…. And I have a nice car! Definitely look into that 🙏🏼

I'm glad you've got the option of side hustles to help you get your income up. You don't earn a bad amount, but your car really seems to be killing you. Is it possible for you to just sell it and buy something cheaper? Or are you underwater on it? I realise it's a big change but it could go a long way to freeing up some money from your monthly bills.

Selling it isn’t an option right now :( I don’t have anything saved up to buy something cheap outright. I could try and look for someone that would be willing to buy it, but I owe about $30k and that’s more than the fair market value right now. I might look into refinancing it for a lower interest rate or renting it out on an app like Turo 😅 Thank you for the suggestion ❤

@@kristinesharp6286 Looking at her budget a car is not an asset in her situation. Just because she can pay the car note does not mean she can afford the car. If her car breaks down her current budget will not be enough to pay for any major repairs. The car note and car insurance is hurting her. I can hear Dave Ramsey screaming sell the car and buy a cash car until her financial situation improves. At the very least she needs a car maintenance emergency fund.

@@steffiejoe IMNSHO Dave Ramsey is wrong about cars and to some degree college. It’s all a matter of what is being studied and what can be earned and how much tuition is. You have to live somewhere. You have to get to and from work. People can’t just fork over 10,000’s just like they can’t fork over 100,000’s. Women have that further concern of safety to consider.

Subscribed! I hope you have a great 2023 this is the year I get my emergency fund and debt under control too. Just had a baby this past year and didn’t have enough saved for my leave from work so my credit utilization isn’t the best it’s been. Emergency fund and credit utilization under 30% is the goal for now hopefully I can pay stuff off this year but I also want to have a Christmas fund and two birthday funds as well so I don’t have to use further debt. We can do this!!

@@thewfhmommy I’m debating on it because I love watching and supporting the budgeting community but I’d probably do that on a whole new channel later since I don’t have the set up for it right now. I made this one when I was younger and had no budgets or responsibilities besides food and rent. I feel like it became more of a consumerism promoting channel (without me realizing until I decided to stop because I didn’t want to promote that) over time and that’s what grew it so I don’t think it would appeal to the following I have on my channel. If I do I’ll make a community post and link the new channel there in case some people are interested in that but for now I’ll just budget at home and follow along with the journey! Thank you so much though, looking forward to future videos!

Good for you to create a plan. Day at a time and do what you can to move yourself along your goals. I also am wondering if your husband us currently working or are you a single income at the moment? Great video!
@thewfhmommy
@thewfhmommy Жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 He is not currently working. We have been living off of my income since 2019. He has back issues and needed surgery back in 2020. He can’t stand too long, sit too long, lift more than 3 pounds, and has a lot of muscle spasms and chronic pain. He is in PT right now and is managing things better, so we are hopeful that he can start doing something like Uber Eats - flexible enough so that he can take breaks as needed and he won’t have to do a lot of heavy lifting. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I didn't see anything listed for Healthcare in your budget. I saw your income potential does your husband work? If so, add his income. Do you have renters insurance?

Oo yes, I seemed to have left off a bunch of things 😅 I pay for my renters insurance annually ($12 through Lemonade.com) and we are currently on short term health insurance so I have to figure out what we are doing next. Eek! 😖 my husband does not currently work but we are hoping he can do something like Uber eats in the future. He has back issues that have limited him physically, but he is now in physical therapy and seems to be managing his pain and muscle spasms a bit better 🤞🏼

I forgot to mention a few things, so sorry! I work from home, so I was filling up maximum twice a month at $45-$50 each time (based on the fluctuations in gas prices). I expect that to be much higher now that I am trying to do deliveries, but I’m not sure how much. I’ll update my monthly budget with these details. I also wasn’t tracking how much I spend on food or household products, so I’m doing that from here on out. Starting this month I am budgeting $400 for food. The only household items we regularly buy is laundry detergent, toilet paper, dish soap, sponges, and tooth paste so I might just include that in with our food budget.
