My gosh I LOVE THE origami plate!! You could also use the center as water, even with the wood texture I think would look like ripples in the water. Your scrafitto is soo gorgeous!! Just sieve the glazes that have oolites in them! Such a time saver. They happen especially in glazes that have been frozen or even partially frozen. Your sweater mug is gorgeous. Glazes will settle out when you haven’t been using them for a while. All you have to do is stir it really well. Some glazes can get to old that they completely dry out. All you do is add water and mix. Call Mayco about your cenote and tell them there aren’t any crystals in it. They will want the batch number. I absolutely LOVE the cabin scene on the matte winterwood!

Why is it that sometimes when you dip a piece in glaze and the outside fires really shiny but the inside fires more a matte finish? Is it still food safe when the inside looks more matte? Your mugs are great, nice finding you one KZbin! Looking forward to watching more of your videos!

Hmmm... Are you dipping the whole piece in the same bucket at the same time? I'm not sure why the glaze would be matte unless they were different glazes. If the glaze is food safe and you fired the clay to vitrification it should be food safe. Now, with matte glazes they aren't always ideal for dinnerware just because they can show silverware marks and just don't last as well as glossy glaze, but they should still be food safe if the glaze is. I hope that makes sense! 😊

@@ericarosepottery8022 Thanks for the info, I appreciate your insight. Yeah it is the exact same glaze, the inside I fill up with a container, dump it out and dip the outside straight after. So odd the colour difference and even the inside sometimes looks shiny in some areas and more matte in other. So love your work, you are such a great inspiration.

@@karri8998 I wonder if the glaze inside isn't as thick as the outside? I have had pieces that I applied thinner on the inside and it was matte and not very even in color. That could possibly be it. Thank you so much! I hope you get it figured out! 🥰
