I keep less than $20 in my checking all the time. Not because of me but my husband is a spender and if he knows there’s money in there, it won’t be for long. 😂. We use cash and when it’s gone, it’s gone. Great video Lisa

I’m quickly learning that I need to start to keeping track of the cash I’m spending from my cash envelopes. I’m trying to reconcile Januarys budget and its 😵💫

That’s why I had to add trackers. Last month was a hot mess for me.

Just closed out my January budget. I get paid tomorrow and that check covers first couple weeks of February, as I am paid bi-weekly, so even though three checks in January, as all my bills from this check happen in Feb., I just closed it out lol plus I’m over January. Longest Monday ever!!

Where do you budget your taxes for KZbin?
@LisaMarieBudgets2 күн бұрын
The money is hanging out in an account. I’m about done with my taxes. I haven’t started working on my deductions and I’m sitting at owing $500 for the year. It’ll be less than that after I get done going through my business purchases.

@LisaMarieBudgets you are so good at this! I am learning alot from you. This is my second time doing cash envelopes, don't know why I stopped the first time, lol, I started Jan 1 of this year and have already saved close to a thousand. Thank you for being the real you and showing us how it's done!

Happy last week in January! Take it out of fur babies for sure! Justified! 🙂 Sorry about your rug. Lisa, even the Budget Mom herself, has a buffer or cushion. I wouldn't be able to sleep with less than $100- in my checking account. That's me though. And you filmed this on Sunday? VIKES! 🫢😨😱 Have a great rest of the week.

@@LisaMarieBudgets Miko said in her "money morning routine" today that she was SO HAPPY to have a cushion in her checking account because her Chewy Order came out early before she paid herself. Trust yourself. Have faith. It comes off the top. For example: If I have $1,000 to budget, but $100 of that is for my cushion, so really, I only have $900 to budget. Then set your own rules for what you can and CANNOT dip into the cushion or buffer for. For us it's unexpected stuff like Miko had, however in our case we also have a "fur baby sinking fund for over and above stuff that sits in a high yield savings account. I would simply move the difference back over to replenish. But if I didn't have any extra money in a fund to reimburse the cushion, I'd let it eat an unexpected expense. I have $1200 at all times in that buffer. The $100 a month that I set aside for that purpose, if fully funded, then feeds our emergency fund when it's not feeding the buffer. I know it sounds complicated and it can take you a few months to get a good rhythm. But I know you can do this. HAVE FAITH! 🙂 February starts in less than 2 days. Try it. 🙂
