Hah! Fat chance. 😆 I’ve got Royal Assassin, Clash of Kings, Shadow of the Torturer and Reaper’s Gale lined up. If, after those few thousand pages, I have any February left, I’ll read what I want. 😉

January was a ridiculous month for you 😂 Love the audio for war of the rose throne as you said it continues to just improve

Only problem is I’ve heard John Lee only did the first 2 books. For me he is THE VOICE of this series, so I think I’ll eyeball books 3 & 4.

I finished reading The Tawny Man trilogy in January. I think I’m going to keep the final trilogy until later in the year, I don’t really want it to end!!
@MattonBooks Жыл бұрын
Everyone says the end’s sad, simply because the series is done. But that’s what re-reading is for! 😀
@derrisreaditbefore Жыл бұрын
I hope you loved Tawny Man, I know I always do. Give yourself a wee break before the Rain Wild Chronicles (because I'm *totally* assuming you plan on reading them), not least because moving the story past Tawny Man - wasn't planned - and the pace drops back to rebuild the next arc (think A Feast for Crows coming after the highlight that is A Storm of Swords). As for Fitz and the Fool being the 'end' - just do what I do - read it over. Me - "again! again!"
@derrisreaditbefore Жыл бұрын
@@MattonBooks exactly. For me the story NEVER ends 🤣
@KarenS41 Жыл бұрын
@@derrisreaditbefore I’ve read the Rain Wild Chronicles 😊 my library didn’t have the final Tawny Man book for ages and I couldn’t wait to continue hehe. So yes, a little break is needed now.

My pallet cleansers are my reading a suspence novel or two. People that read my blog like my different kinds of books I read. I read my ever first steampunk novel but, it's a young adult fantasy start to a series. I enjoyed it a lot.

Your videos are always such a treat. I feel you on the readalong overcommittment part. I did the same in January and ended up feeling overwhelmed and read nothing. When are you planning to read Dandelion Dynasty? It's on my tbr for later this year
@MattonBooks Жыл бұрын
Yeah, also “later this year” is my very vague idea. Around May my readlong load will lighten (once ASOIAF is done), then we’ll see.

I’ve seen flipping between audio book and paperback referred to as “ear reading’ and “eye reading”! You consumed a bonkers amount of books and other content in January 😯 I spend lots of time on YT and squeeze out pages when I can, but I didn’t get anywhere near my January goals. I did rate things 4, 4, 2, 5 and 4⭐️ however, so there was one particular stand-out 😉 I’ve got “Royal Assassin” sat beside me as I type, but I also have a Claire North, “84K”, that I’m very excited for too.

I’ve always simply read for pleasure, and never had any “goals”, until I joined too many readalongs this month! 😆 Started RA yesterday and already it’s great to be back with Fitz again. ♥️

Hey! So The Bonehunters was a re-read for me as well and the best thing I finished in January. I love it so much I did 3 videos on it! Also read the Kindred Graphic novel, really powerful, great read. Check it out. I decided to do Return of the Crimson Guard before Reaper's Gale just to see if it makes things click a little differently on the reread this time around. Also doing a side by side comic book to chapter comparison of Assassin's Apprentice, so I'll be awhile with that one to see how it goes. I read slowly though so that will do for now. Cheers!

Thanks Jarrod. BTW, for some reason your comment got stuck in Held for Review, hence my slow reply. No idea why, looks harmless enough to me, but thought you should know. I'm sticking strictly to concurrent pub order for my Malazeverything re/read, so Reaper's Gale's up next!
