Bowgun expert here. I take back everything negative that I've said about Penetrator. Invuln both when going prone and after evasion is huge. I assume that means the animation for going prone is when the invincibility will be. I can officially give it the Gunner's Seal of Approval. 9/10 skill. I'll give it a 10/10 if the damage can compare to CF, Sat, and VQ.

Finally bg getting it's only , although it's 6mp but can be used while still prone so pretty cool. Since there is a pretty long charge time and no auto aim, i would say the damage should compare to all 3 of them.

@ It’s actually way better than it first seems. Firstly, as far as I’ve heard, the lack of auto aim is actually a bug. There’s a problem with the hitbox. For example, going prone can cause the origin of the attack to shift under a floor, causing the attack to just fail. Looking at the skill’s animation, it doesn’t seem to have an actual projectile like CF does, nor a travel time. While that could just be an attempt at realism, it seems more like the hitbox was bugged. I do think it’d be fine if it lacked auto aim (as long it isn’t shooting into the floor), because bowguns already have DPS options that can tag agile enemies. I’d much rather it have auto aim, though. Regardless, that’s 600MP to be invincible as many times as you can Evade before pulling the trigger. I’m assuming that the invincibility is on the animation for going prone, meaning it’ll activate both immediately after using the skill and every time you Evade while charging. If you have good enough Evasion boosts, such as through sub-dagger and Assault Chase’s reduced consumption, you can spam the invincibility much more often. Don’t need that invincibility and want to use a different skill? Use the skill again to fire early. One of the biggest advantages is that Penetrator is a ranged attack, which means you won’t have to waste time closing in before getting access to your invincible skill. Not only that, but the skill seems to have an MP regen effect that scales with stacks upon firing. Meaning that the true cost of using the skill is less than 600MP, with the cost decreasing each stack. Combine that with Decoy Shot, and the skill actually won’t cost much of anything at all, since you can’t cast other skills during Penetrator. If I had to guess, I’d say the damage will be comparable to the main shot of a CF of the same charge. A little bit lower, I’d wager. If it does more damage than CF, I’ll give the damn skill an 11/10 for being outright excessive, especially since you can charge both Penetrator and CF at the same time. The only major downside is the anti-synergy with GSW (and Motion Speed as a whole), since it’ll reduce your s a bit. Assuming they don’t make the animation operate independently of Motion Speed, anyway. The fact that it could potentially hinder VQ spamming is a very minor downside, since VQ spammers using Penetrator for mostly defensive purposes can just fire early to get back to the TS-VQ cycle. To summarize: they’re going to hand every single gunner in Toram a T4 skill that has multiple instances of invincibility that can (supposedly) deal a large amount of damage for damn near free. Using it as a defensive tool will take some skill, but the reward for honing that skill could be immense.

Regarding the QoL improvements- Only when I see it will I believe it. Regarding the magic tuning- it says t1-4 but thats t3max. If the tunning ADDED instead of changed then Id be less annoyed by some of said additions, but it all feels underwhelming considering its just sprinkled damage upon a tier1-3 ability. I do not like OHS being mentioned in Magic tree. I keep saying that Dex Mage is so ignored because they look at mage through yellow tinted glasses- and now its not even Staff critical- ITS MAGIC WARRIOR. Name a single Main weapon Tree where another weapon is a squatter. HB killed it YEARS ago- no one uses Critical Spear as a Sword main. I genuinely believe that Spell burst of Battle Tree was set in place for Magic Warrior in the future as a foundation. Much like the Agi update- everyone thought it was for them...then Dual Sword T5 came out and reminded them who the favorite son was (until it wasnt...again) Mages hopped on the critical wagon and casting animations, timers, and modifiers all got swept under the rug. You remember the utility of Knockback and Vortex? Asobimo doesnt. How about the fact it takes 10k cspd to instant cast but other Dex involved trees just dont have to, and pretty much GSW or minimal AGI/solid ASPD all their motion problems. Critical, and damage mitigation took a big spotlight off the lack of in house speed modifiers, a power wave range that sits outside the singular I-Frame's activation range, Dying utility outside of dmg increase, boring reused assets for almost everything involving, and self sustain as a main weapon tree. Qadal and Magic knife was made because some crithead had to play INT DEX and realized we literally could not prorate by ourselves, and a lack of heavy spending meant no critical modifiers or rates. The tester also found out the hard way Magic Burst was unforgiving with cast time/and prerequisite magic to shorten timer. So they literally tried to skip the aspect without Dex. It then promptly died. Still dont believe me? Qadal noe benefits every other substat more than Dex with how the % mechanic works. Enchanted Barrier update was made so the slow, non gsw, non-support tree caster could actually survive and...CAST in some reliable peace- but it does not benefit Dex to the same extent as a STR/CRT/ MNTL Mage. Barrier does not negate dmg, its still a body hit. Frankly the only reason one would invest Dex is to get an easier Magic Burst conjoined with Chain Cast stacks- which is now around 4800 inside Barrier. Barrier does not effect OTHER casting speedwise and due to it being dmg REDUCTION- a GSW/Support user is in for a hell of rebuffing should they camp barrier. Then came Shift...the laziest thing ever that puts Asura to shame. I wanted a REAL second Iframe for ME, MYSELF. They make a party restricted Invincible phase that does nothing outside of keeping the poor out of range caster alive for 200 mana. This too of course benefits spamcamp deadbrained activity as the Guard taunts somewhere. It practically was made as a consolation gift for the existence of spinning lasers and Shukchi being mandatory if you arent semi tank tier. "We wont adjust critical rate of magic" Oh noooo the only issue with Magic only mitigated by absurd amounts of equipment investment remains unaddressed! The best way to improve magic tree isnt even in Magic Tree. Wizard Tree is a dumpster of skillpoints for droplets of cast speed. Priest Tree Staff Thrust is a PHYSICAL ATTACK NEEDING CRITICAL OR MINDS EYE to flinch. Nemesis stacks faster with KNUCKLE ASURA than a multi-hit attack from a Caster. Prayer is practically War Cry yet Warcry is instant, cheaper and provides a better niche. Magic Blast is quite literally a worse Javelin despite being a tier later. ELEMENTAL NICHE AILMENTS ARE 95% DEAD as are STOP, SLOW ,KNOCKBACK, & VACCUUM. Power Wave is ALL or NOTHING with no tailoring between. RAPID CHARGE COULD HAVE LITERALLY JUST BEEN THE "MAGIC LASER" PIERCE IF THEY JUST UNCAPPED THE PIERCE OF PLAYER INVESTED PIERCE- unprecedented btw. MAGIC KNIFE- IS THE REASON WHY NO ONE WANTS TO USE IMPERIAL RAY. ITS FIXED NEUTRAL. FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF AGI your problems vanish- for DEX you face THREE animations with less pullout room as you get higher cspd- down to 1.5 at 10k cspd worth of investment (entering a non existent timer stance instead of just doing the attacking/buffing animation). OVERLIMIT+SORCERY GUIDE IS 40POINTS DEEP yet activation still counters your CAST MASTERY INVESTMENT. It doesnt become -0cspd despite 20 points back to back. Meanwhile OTHER speed and power modifiers have ZERO drawback in ways so crucial or conflicting. Advanced Familia is STUPID. RNG THROUGH SKILLS OBTAINED TO THEN RNG FOR CHANCE OF EFFECT? JUST CUSTOMIZE THE CAT'S SKILL LIKE A PET OR MERCENARY. Support tree locks you into perfect mode pseudo locking you from ALL damage mitigation lest you spend another xAmount of seconds rebuffing in the heat of battle. 1slot phys is powerful. 1slot Magic is slow and considerably less powerful no matter the substat but ESPECIALLY DEX. INT boosts aspd and mana by like 1point every so many levels. It could have been cspd, stability, more element effectiveness, even cdmg...but its less than 100aspd 300mana at around 500INT. "We wont touch magic crit rate"

I agree with most of the things you said, but I don't see a problem with Ohs being mentioned in the Magic Tree, after all, OMD is a class that suffers from a lack of diversity (after all, that was the price to pay for Dual Bringer), so I believe that something to change the gameplay a little is always welcome, and like it or not, it is not something that will affect mage directly, since the damage of the skill itself will certainly be greater on mage. Anyway, apart from the OHS part, I agree with the majority, I was a Main Mage Burst for 2 years before becoming Main OMD (I've been playing for 8 years, and I'm a meta hater xd), and the state of the class doesn't seem to changes since Tier 4, there are a lot of criteria to make mages do good damage, and even with the current buffs it's not exactly what mages need... In my opinion, to begin with, mages shouldn't have access to Critical, but rather a buff white damage, so that it can compete with other classes equally, this way Mage Dex would be more viable, and STR would not exist (Which, honestly, is more of a stopgap). Of course, many other things would need to change, such as Magic Burst not needing CSPD to be Insta Cast, and well, 10K CSPD there should be a decrease to 5K (However, the same should happen with ASPD to be fair)..

i rlly was bummed seeing they wont fix magic crit rate, theres just no way to having a all-rounder build for mage now without sacrificing too much spina and damage. They could have at least let weaken be refreshed every time its reapplied, or better just make magic overall do best with non-crit dmg, like maybe converting your crit dmg to another multiplier into a lesser but permanent one that increases non-crit dmg, idk tho how they will do it but it should be a good starting point.. well just my 2 cents.

I don't agree about gsw/solid aspd solving all problems, unless you have a decent cspd cast time remains unaffected by mspeed. In other words you still need 10k cspd for instant cast, even if you have chain cast lv10 at 10 stacks. The gsw user should not use barrier anyways, it's purely for survival cuz that was the main problem of mages. Lack of /dmg reduction skills to survive, barrier eliminates all those problems and even better reduces the cast time of finale and skills required to cast burst cuz 10k cspd even with 250 dex mage is difficult to get unless you invest points in support skills which is counterproductive to what barrier is for. Also wizard skill tree is not a dumpster for cspd, even before cast mastery was introduced ppl could get 10k cspd. I actually use wizard skills for dmg, i agree that shift absolutely sucks and is the worst skill in existence but wizard skills definitely need more improvements, i like to use them. Sadly imperial blast which is the strongest skill in wizard tree does half the dmg of burst, i think the first cast of imperial ray should be instant so it can be spammed more and giving us the choice of which skills familiar should use out of the 3 it's gonna spam will help syncing imperial blast with elemental skills. Even without this i don't know why you need magic daggers to do elemental dmg (other than the fact that it would look damn cool to see daggers in different colors), you can just use element slash to get the right element imperial blast, it's instant, easy and works like a charm. Knockback and suction still works the same way idk what you're talking about. If you want to stack nemesis as fast as asura aura, just get max mspeed, guardian beam and magic knife. I don't think devs even considered stacking nemesis with asura when the 2 skills were introduced, players found out that tiny trick. Asura always worked that way, it just coincidently also stacks nemesis cuz each attack is considered as a separate hit. 1 slot magic is equally powerful especially cuz of how int stat itself gives dte% bonus. Although neutral ele could receive some love. 1 slot mage with substat dex is even more powerful cuz you can spam skills without a care in the world, pair that with barrier and you're as fast as any physical atk job. Maxmp gain by int should have been more though. You can't always be stuck with 1 stat build for mages man int>dex, it was time to give mages more options. Now you have an option of building a physical mage with str as the substat, hit with your staff on close range, increase nemesis damage, staff thrust is meant for mages who want to get upclose and personal. Maybe necromancer skill tree will support this whole physical staff build. Mages have the most sub skill trees, theres priest, wizard, magic warrior to some extent and soon there'll be necromancer. I love my mage and all the versatility magic provides, i agree there are many flaws but without some of those mages would be outright OP. Every class needs balance, mages are up there with knux when it comes to offense and defense, you just need to pair up the right skills instead of being stuck to the traditional int>dex, traditions need to upgrade with time. Int>dex in my opinion is still the best stat distribution for mages, it's just so fast, has high matk and the only way to reach 10k cspd with max motion without being a glasscanon is int>dex +barrier. All in all 50% of your concerns are just personal whining and the rest 50% is genuine.

I will only talk about the ohs mentions on magic tree, which I think it's justified, or at least, it should have been for all weapons that can be magic warrior. Magic build of MW especially for ohs is just dead, except kmd, which still actually is a reunion spammer. Magic build MW is no different from physical, you spam esword, burst, reunion, that's all. At least with that new skill magic MW can now just use it instead of no damage magic esword, lower mp cost too, gives mpierce, etc. But still that skill doesn't change the fact that magic MW will still be reunion spammer, and omd in general will still have crit issue to get max crit when running magic build. I'm not a mage main so I won't comment much about mages getting stronger, they are already plenty broken rn lol

Not quiet, it is the end of cyc adlib spam but you can cover this with a combination of kairiki(for burning spirit), monster hunter+quick draw and decoy. It works well, even better in pt farm as adlib sometimes fails to activate cuz the mob is already dead by the time you shoot cyc and the combo doesn't activate, eventually leading to 0mp especially if the pt has blizz+storm+ vortex. I am a cyc farmer myself and have stopped using adlib to address the above problem, so the change anyways won't affect me, since bow is my fav farmer type i don't wanna give up cuz of adlib change. Also sunrise arrow+wcos was always a thing way before cyc was introduced with max motion that is also an option.
