I think it’s worth reading the whole good girl’s series. The author takes a large risk in the third book that readers love or hate. If nothing else the series is memorable.

Definitely agree with this. I would recommend listening to the audiobooks remaining in the series. Love the narrator

Thank you for advocating for the idea of DNFing books if we’re really not feeling them…there is so much pressure to read, read, read but life is too short to read a book you don’t like!

I think the second Good Girl's Guide book is almost as good as the first, so totally worth it, but I was one of the people who hated the third book with a fiery passion. A lot of people loved it though, so I think it might be worth checking out! And definitely continue with the audiobooks!

If you loved Pip, you need to continue with the series ❤! Her character growth throughout the 3 books is nothing like I read before, so raw and genuine.

i love a good girls guide to murder!! really enjoyed the second book as well. the third i hated though. but tbh the first two have a more connected storyline and the third is just a completely different vibe. the prequel novella is super fun too!

I LOVE AGGTM! The 2nd book wasn't as great, but the 3rd one really did it for me. I listened to it on audio this week and WOW! If you're in an audiobook mood, I'd highly recommend it.

Hey Ashley! I'm a big thriller fan, love your content! I've been following you for a couple years. :-) I really just wanted to thank you for being so clear about why you did or didn't like a read. Today I was listening to you talk about Kate Alice Marshall and the ... we will call it the "amnesia" trope I guess? lol... At first I was like, well, maybe I shouldn't read No One Can Know, but when you stated why you didn't like it, I was thinking, "Well, I actually LIKE that trope!" 😝 So you really helped me out, and I appreciate you! Keep it coming, book-friend!

Good point on the formatting of the Christina Henry. I hated the way it was broken up. It was asking a lot of the reader for not enough payoff.

I loved book one (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder) & I would leave it there. It's such a great reading experience and so much fun! The other two just keep going downhill. They are not bad, but they are also not great. They are "fine."

The first book in the series is the best. The second book is pretty good, but not as intricate or entertaining as the first. The third good goes off the deep end and is really out there.

Hoping the series you are reading is the Wayward children series. It’s my all time favorite!! If you haven’t read it, I would love to see you do a vlog reading all 9 books. They are all under 200 pages so they are very quick to read!

I just finished Death Valley a few days ago and I'm happy you enjoyed it more than me because it sounded sooo good. Everytime she mentioned the Rocks all I could think of was watching Spongebob when i was little and him talking to the used tissue and penny or whatever it was 😅

I have recently realized I don’t like unreliable narrators. Feels like the author is intentionally lying to make a “plot twist”. So I understand what you’re saying about thrillers where they hold information back.

I loved the first two books in the AGGGTM series (I listened to the audiobooks) but I *hated* book 3. I think it's still worth continuing because some people love the direction it goes in but others don't!

I have the same question/concern about A Good Girl’s Guide for Murder series. I’ve also only read the first book, so I’ll be curious to see what others say here and also what you think if you end up continuing.

Have you read any of the "Inheritance Games" series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes? It does read kind of YA, but the mystery part of it was compelling enough to keep me reading. Its very "Knives Out" meets "Dawson's Creek".

I’m halfway through No One Can Know and I’m going to finish it but I’m REALLY not enjoying it. The writing really shows that the author previously wrote Young Adult fiction. It really reads Young Adult. Also - too many perspectives from two timelines, and the characters are insufferable. Additionally, rich parents who were murdered and the protagonist comes back to childhood home…how many times have we read the same story?

I LOVED the first book, the second is really disappointing, the third one is just weird (and not in a good way). Personally, I would say look up recaps for the rest of the series but don't bother reading them. They aren't worth it and in some ways cheapen the first book.
