Pico island in the Azores (Açores) is the youngest of all the islands in the Portuguese archipelago, and the most volcanic of them all, dominating the nature and the way of life on this extraordinary island.

Very well said, Azores needs to be protected at all costs, not just by the Azoreans but by any one who loves natural beauty, safe daily living, clean environment & so on .... & by the ones like me who have seen first hand other paradises destroyed by greedy opportunistic wasteful humans who are just out to make a buck & care nothing for our environment & our animal friends .. I was born on majestic Pico island many years ago, it was-is the best place to grow up as a kid & I want those islands to be there as they are now for many future generations to enjoy them like I did,, This video makes me miss my true home very much cant wait to set foot there once again... how did you get around? did you hire a car? I can't seem to find affordable car hire on Pico

Hello, thanks for watching this video. We rented a car, yes. Unfortunately, car rentals in Pico isn't cheap, and it doesn't get better in the busy, summer months. That's likely because of the limited car companies in the island.
