I like the size of splits that this processor produces. Most processors make spilts that are too big.

I would like to have one of processor’s but there is no where to find one near me. But I was wondering what is the difference between the 435 and the 405 that is on The Ohio Wood Burner? I love the way of this machine that makes perfect stick’s of clean firewood!
@villekairus45602 жыл бұрын
hi Kevin, with 405 you can have both traditional splitting and perfect split options. 435 is more heavy duty and is designed for really heavy logs with only perfect split option. Mr. Bob Nelson from Metsa Machines has plenty of machines on his stock in US and can give you more information and offer of these Machines

Absolutely brilliant bit of gear. A bit sad that the product page and the brochure don't do the advanced features of this machine justice. The measuring of m3 is something I've never seen on any other machine. What is the function of the voltage readout at top left of the display? I can't see details anywhere on the web including on your site. IMHO the only real issue with this machine is the splitting speed. It produces beautifully consistent block size, it measures how much wood you've processed, has an amazingly fast chain changeover speed (thanks to metsamachines video) but most of the time most of the machine is sitting idle waiting for the splitter. A massively oversized rod in the hydraulic ram (like Eastonmade use) and/or a 2 stage pump could potentially double the splitting speed with no infrastructure change.

Hi Alan, thanks for your comment! We try to show the advantages with these videos and live demos. Unfortunately this spring all demos and trade shows are cancelled. This splitting system is available in two of our Firewood Processors: Japa 405 and Japa 435. We have a great number of customers who appreciate the high quality output of the patented Perfect Split system. This machine can be powered by PTO, 3-phase electricity or Combustion engine. Screen and controls have 12V nominal voltage. With the voltage readout we can check the proper voltage level when we use external power from the tractor for example.

I think your calculation(8.35 looser=3.35 solid) is wrong but I could be wrong , generally 3 solid cubic m =1 cord (3.62 m stacked , or 5.09 m thrown ) , but that is for 40 cm it would seem the customer is paying a lot for air if your calculations are correct , yes shorter wood will produce more air pockets
@chlyon Жыл бұрын
Just doing the calculations at 25 cm long radius of log of 17 cm radius (34 diameter ) and 4 rounds per minute (3passes X5sec per pass average) should process about 5.4 solid m per hour , so about 1.8 cords . They did in my estimation 8.5 loose Cubes so the 8.35 is likely correct , but its 5 solid CM of wood so 52 euro X5.04=262.08 sold for 576 = 314 gross or 502 Euro at 40 cm 16 inch length per hour
@chlyon8 ай бұрын
4.15 solid cubes=5 m stacked as shown on display =8.33 loose so 215 euro cost sales at 575= 360 Euro value added

Why do you use a chainsaw to but firewood. Do chainsaws need a lot of maintenance? Yes they do. The cord king uses a circular saw that needs very little maintenance, I think the blade is 24 or 30 inches wide so it can cut 15 inch wide logs. Regards, Edgar
@japa-firewoodprocessors4 жыл бұрын
Hi Edgar. Thanks for your comment. Circular saws definitely have their benefits and so have the chain saws as well. The main benefit of the chainsaw is the compact size compared to the circular saw. For 15" logs 16" bar is enough. For 15" logs the minimum size of the circular saw blade is about 34". This requires a lot of space inside the processor. Circular saw requires less maintenance but maintenance for the chainsaw is much easier and can be done by the operator. We also offer a harvester saw unit, same as used in the professional forestry harvesters, including automatic chain tensioning. This allows the operator to replace the new chain without any tools. Also the lifetime of the chain is much longer with the harvester saw unit. If there is metal or stone in the wood that damages the blade/chain, it takes only a couple of minutes to replace the chain. Replacing the circular saw blade normally takes a minimum couple of hours and the maintenance often requires professional workshop.
@johanneslaxell66412 жыл бұрын
Regarding maintenance: maybe so, but if you run a HM-chain you can run wery long time without any stops. I know of a 365 where the last change of chain was early 2020, but that one is in "semi-pro" use...

The fact that it can split pieces into manageable sizes is a huge selling point for a customer. Large split pieces result in improper seasoning and heavy weight that some customers don't like. This machine, with the return ram to split larger logs efficiently is a huge bonus.

bit.ly/2IL2LCG This is a picture after the 2018 Firewood Processor Shootout. We took one piece of split firewood from each pile to compare the difference between Perfect Split and traditional splitting knife. It's probably easy to recognize our firewood in the picture and easy to understand why some of the customers are ready to pay more for the firewood like this. For some customers the size of the firewood is not that important but for some customer it is. And for the firewood producers aiming for the constant high quality we can offer the right tools.
@johanneslaxell66412 жыл бұрын
For me looking at for example Eastonmade one concern is the size of some of the wood. The pieces are somtimes so big that one should use a forklift to move them 🤣. For my use this 10" is perfect, ~3"X3".
